In today's Metro (a free London newspaper) there is an ad in the housing section, p.64, with a woman who looks the double of Andy. And she's holding a purple heart.

To her defense, if you couldn't already tell, that picture is from a quite while back. hell i bet you'd do it if you needed the money. Out here in SoCal she's also on ad for a pay as you go cellphone, has been for a few years.

Its most likely that she did this long before she knew Prince. She actually had a career before Prince. He didn't pluck her from obscurity. She was on G4TV every week before joining up with Prince.

I really like how Andy makes her own living and she's a good model.

At least she's not the scary skinny dopehead with an attitude as most models.

I like her smile.



And when she tours, people will pick up her cd.

She's done lots of stuff like that--before she ever met Prince. A while back I walked into my bank and saw her smiling at me from a big poster ad for banking services.

she's so pretty. andy allo looks bright and is bright. she is an accomplished singer/songwriter, who has her own albums out, and yes even before she worked with prince she had made a name for herself.

I was going to say she's not pretty. Things are pretty. I agree she's beautiful. She's still a poseur but this is what models do so she's a beautiful poseur. She has a friendly girl next door look. I think her fro and smile is what made her stand out to agents because this world is full of beautiful women who came before her and will come after she's long gone.

Here in Asia, MANY MANY western celebrities actually do adverts for all manner of things ( Pepsi, cellphones, etc.). Actors, singers, you name it--they all do it. I believe the practice is becoming slightly more common in the states--it used to be that it was their dirty little secret 'overseas', but I think it's more accepted now?


Anyways, she had a career as a model just like Nicole Kidman or Sigourney Weaver did before acting.


So, it's not her other career options to me that make her less legit--it's her so-so talent.

I'm more annoyed that Prince put so much effort into launching her music career instead of focusing on his own. I can't blame the girl for trying.

Artists doing commercials has been common in the US for eons.

When there are no albums, interviews, radio shows, singles, tours, tv shows, etc... the bills keep flowing no matter.

In all fairness, it looks like she may have done several photo shoots which the photographer has licensed to image libraries such as shutterstock and istock which have been purchased by the designer to advetise what they wish.

I'm a designer so can spot a library image a mile off.

Prince had a very good reason for putting so much effort into launching Andy's music career but she launched her own modeling, acting, and music career before Prince tracked her down.

I can't blame or hate her for trying. She was offered the opportunity of a lifetime. More people know of her as a result.

Prince wasn't going to put out anything of his own at the time. He became interested in Andy and hoped to make her an overnight celebrity. He wanted her to sing a few personal songs he wrote and Andy didn't do a bad job but I agree her singing and guitar talent is so-so. I think she does best when acting and modeling for advertisements. Andy appeared on a popular cable show called The Game before she met Prince. None of her Superconductor songs had a lasting effect on me.

The music industry has turned into a popularity contest.

Not jealous at all,in fact it is rather amusing to watch people swoon over these poseurs.
