"The Time," "What Time is It," and "Condensate" are the top three, but the order is debatable. "Ice Cream Castles" is clearly fourth and Pandemonium is last. Here is my order:

1a: "The Time"--This album contains the best song by the greatest band ever, The Stick. Get is Up is also one of the best songs ever. Those two songs are the reason why this one is first. Cool and Girl are great tunes. I'm not a fan of Oh Baby or After High School, but those songs are o.k.

1b: "Condensate"--This album has much more depth than any other and that is why it is second. So many good songs from start to finish. Two great songs with "Toast to the Party Girl" and "If I was Your Man" that are as good as any classics from this group. Trendin, Strawberry Lake, AYDKMN, Sick, Faithful, Lifestyle, etc., etc. One of my favorite albums of all time.

1c: "What Time is It?"--777-9311 and Gigolos Get Lonely are the classics from this album. Gigolos is in my top 10 songs of all time. The Walk, Wild and Loose and I Don't Want to Leave You are also very good. This Cd is a close third because it also has depth. Heck, all 3 are so good that it is impossible to pick just one.

4. "Ice Cream Castles"--Without Jungle Love this album is not that great, but Jungle Love is a pure classic. The Bird is fun. My Drawers is probably my second favorite track on the album. If the Kid Can't make You Come and Chilli Sauce are filler. Ice Cream Castles does not feel like a song that was for The Time. That song is good, but it just doens't fit with that band.

5. "Pandemonium"--Just because it is last doens't mean that it is not a great album. This album is underrated, but there is no great song. Jerk Out, Blondie, Skillet, etc. are good songs. My personal favorite is "It's Your World" on that CD. There are also some songs that were not really that good on that CD like Donald Trump Black Version and My Summertime Thang, but I still listen to it from time to time.

I know people will want to say that The Time is Prince, but all I know is that I listen to "The Time" more than Controversy, I listen to "What Time is It" more than 1999 and I definitely listen to "Condensate" way, way, way more than 20ten.

The Time.

Love at first listen.

The first notes of Get It Up still do something to me. Sick to death. One of my favorites of all time.

What Time Is It by a mile. I STILL listen to this on a regular basis since I bought it on vinyl back in 83. It never gets old. I like this as much if not more than most Prince albums.

Condensate. What a comeback! Well, sort of comeback as they do this then disappear! I love this album. Very fun and funky. It is what The Time is all about.

The Time. A great start, not a bad track, but too short and too Princy.

Pandemonium. There are some great tracks and some clunkers. It hasn't aged very well imo. But the great tracks (Jerk Out, Blondie, Skillet, My Summertime Thang, title track, Chocolate) are so stellar that it makes a great listen.

Ice Cream Castles. Of course the only tracks worth while have been played to death and I am incredibly sick of them. The rest of the tracks sound unfinished and/or very unTimeish.

What Time Is It?Ice Cream CastlesThe TimeAnd the other two are very weak. And they are the only two Time albums that Prince was not responsible for. Gee, could that be the reason......?

actually,Prince had alot to do with Pandemonium. He wrote/produced about 6 tracks, including the two singles "Jerkout" and "Chocolate".

This is how I would rank the albums....

1)What Time Is It?---let's be honest, this is their masterpiece

2)The Time

3)Condensate---this album is still in heavy rotation at my house and in my car.Brilliant!

4Ice Cream Castles---for some reason, this album doesn't thrill me.It's good, but not nearly as strong as the album that came before it.

5)Pandemonium---this album is kinda messy and unfocused. Some of the Prince-produced tracks ("Data Bank","My Summertime Thing") are nothing to write home about.

I like the older albums too, but there always seems to be a song or two I could do without.

I rank the albums in this order:

1. Pandemonium
- the perfect mix of tracks by Prince, Jesse and Jam & Lewis. We finally got to see the band performing without Prince dominating every song on an album. Every song is a winner (except for "Data Bank"). 5/5

2. What Time Is It? - This is the album that established the band's style for the rest of its career. It's still all Prince, but the image and sound were now perfected. 4.5/5

3. Condensate - It showed the band could do it on their own entirely without Prince and still deliver. 4/5

4. The Time - Very good debut by Prince featuring Morris Day, but Prince's vision of the band needed some more polish. 3.5/5

5. Ice Cream Castle - When a skit becomes an entire song, you know it's a half-hearted effort from Prince. 3/5

nod this album feels half-assed.It lacks the infectious power and aggressive funk of the previous album What Time Is It?.The only song that I really like is "My Drawers".

Yeah, they sure are. The Time was the 1st love, made me fiend for the next 1.

I can hear Prince's vocals all over The Stick and Get It Up, others, another reason why I like it so much lol Very Princey.

What Time Is It.

One of the best, most unique funk albums ever(in my opinion).

The Time.

Get it up and Cool. Two of the best funk songs ever(IMO).

Pandemonium.

Highly underrated and overall a more satisfying album than Ice Cream Castles and almost as satisfying as The Time(IMO).

Condensate.

Damn good album. The music on Condensate was fun and funky, and Morris Day's lyrics and personality was on point big time. The Damn thing shoulda been a hit(IMO). Close one between Condensate and Pandemonium.

Ice Cream Castle.

Three great songs, one good one and two meh's.

To me the Time are legends but its a damn shame that they never really got a chance to make more music and to show what they could collectively do(without prince). Hopefully they wont let the petty bullshit that surrounded Condensate keep them from making more music. For as long as they makes music, i (like other Time fans)will keep on buying it.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.
