The Bilal Prince cover from the Winery is up on youtube. I won't post it here because of the mods, but you know where to find it. Questlove had some beef with some braindead Prince song that couldn't give Bilal and the band some dap. The usual whiney, fanatic ravings. Quest put them in their places.
B just kills Sister. Wow. Eeerie, brilliant version. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I agree. Hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Sister". Loved seeing Wendy sitting in with the Roots. Collectively they absolutely do justice to the song and pulled off a masterful re-envisioning of this provocative piece with skill and finesse. Prince gots to be proud. I'd love to get this on my iPod. Moving. Sad. Emotive. Rousing.
Makes me wish I had been there enjoying the energy at Carnegie hall with my Prince fams. Wouldn't mind seeing more of this type of tribute event. Like an annual 'Prince-fest'. Kudos to ?love and others who invested the time and energy into making this happen.
Just listened to Elvis Costello doing "Moonbeam Levels" and he did a real nice job. Did not know he could hit high notes like that. Very cool.

Afterthought: A Princefest could function as something of a family reunion (no pun intended) for kindred spirits who share a common bond of love and/or appreciation for Prince's music--with P. being the patriarch of the gathering.
I gotta stop going to Prince.org after midnight.

Highlight of the night from what I've seen. Bilal should do studio version.

Yeah, this was pretty awesome. Bilal doesn't get enough love on the .Org. I just learned about Love For Sale for the first time today. It sounds like it was a masterpiece! Have you guys ever heard it? "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"
