Too bad, even good reviews don't make an album better than it is!

I have not heard the album(nor do I want to) but did it sell? Are there any numbers available on soundscan? I wish her and Prince luck but that is not my taste in music

Just curious how if you haven't heard the album how you can determone if it's your taste? makes no sense

Only song I find pretty annoying is Superconductor, after that the album is very good, except occationally boring on some of the ballads, as well as she could have had an adtvantage of having a more powerfull voice on funk songs. Even though her voice is more suitable on ballads, I actually find songs like yellow gold, people pleaser and if I was king the absolute best songs. John Blackwell does some amazing drums here, the horn section is perfect and the bass, guitar, keys etc just fit like a glove.

It IS very good. I'm amazed at how many so called fans are totally ignoring this just because it's a protegee. This album to me is more Prince than a Prince album....it's obvious that he pretty much did it all.

It's very much acoustic in a lot of songs and the nearest comparison for me is The Truth possibly coupled a bit with TRC (think If I Was King).

It is quite deep and has a certain maturity about it, this is especially noticeable when starting from Track 3 onwards...

It is quite good. I've played it for numerous folks including 12 yr old daughter and everyone likes and has dl'ed at amazon otr itunes.. The reviews are all positive. I'm happy he made a great record
