Let's see.......after The Original 7ven did NOTHING 2 promote/tour behind "Condensate" (the little they DID do was 95% Prince songs 5% OG 7ven), He left the Band, played for the President @ the White House as part of a Blues Summit, and toured near and far with D'Angelo. I also heard His next solo project (Follow-up 2 "Verbal Penetration") is in the works.

Can't keep a talented man down. Wishing him lots of luck. I still see him getting back together with his friends tho, cuz all those years gotta mean something. 'Condensate' wasn't up to par with what they are known for putting out there. They ALL need to go back in the trenches and not come out until the funk is so strong they gotta come up for air. That's when they got a album worth releasing on us. Not before please gentlemen, not before. Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.

There's an interview wit Jesse from march 2012 on blogtalkradio (on a show called LOTL). I'm looking forward to his next album because i LOVE Verb Pen & love him. [Edited 12/31/12 22:06pm] "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Just going to ignore the lie that O7 did nothing to promote their album. That statement was so ridiculous, I feel it just speaks for itself. Instead I want to focus on, ahem, "played for the President @ the White House as part of a Blues Summit". I think that's kind of funny. We all know Jesse Johnson is a pop artist who records music primarily rooted in Minneapolis style funk. He's also a bit of a session guitarist and a pretty good producer. But what the hell is he doing at a blues summit? That's kind of a first right? But there he was, one of the paid musicians in the backing band for one of the segments. He wasn't a featured artist and his name is not mentioned in any of the major press accounts of the event, though I am sure Questlove, D'Angelo et all, tweeted and gushed endlessly about his precense. Nothing wrong with it at all, except the way some people have portrayed it, dishonestly in my opinion, as though he was being honored, or celebrated or was a guest or something, when in fact he was just one of a couple houndred hired musicians to back the major players. He may someday record blues albums, but that day has yet to come. I don't see the White House gig as anything to brag about. Especially in light of him sabotoging O7.

Well....they did a little......played Club Nokia in LA & State Theater in MPLS (got 2 C that show- AWESOME!!!), Jay Leno & the BET Awards and I think ATL & DET. HOWEVER- what I meant by NOTHING: They played the "intro" 2 "Strawberry Lake" and the whole version of "Trending". Would've LOVED 2 hear more from the Project, but no such luck. Guess that's what Morris meant when He said "Work smarter, not harder". Playing the SAME songs in the SAME order for 4 years has 2 weigh on U after awhile, unless Ur in "Cruise Control".........

Besides: it's RESUME' BUILDING 4 Jesse, as opposed 2 doing the "Same Ol' Same Ol' ". I get it. Not exactly happy that one of My ALL-TIME FAVE Bands hit the skids, but I get it...........
