It’s December 2012, with a burst of spring in the air as a bustling team puts final touches on the 89^th Annual NYSE Holiday Tree Lighting. Excitement is mounting for what promises to be one of the loveliest evenings in recent memory. Christmas on Wall Street is often depicted in art, books, cards and photography alike, but there is something magical about the NYSE Holiday Tree, which has been a tradition since 1923, making it one of the oldest and most visited attractions during the holiday.

This event has always been very special for downtown, particularly since September 11 changed the landscape dramatically. The NYSE Holiday Tree Lighting symbolizes community, and the coming together of our organization and the city in the spirit of giving. Employees step up charitable efforts for perennial holiday causes, like City Harvest, NY Coat Drive, Salvation Army, and Toys-For-Tots return as welcome family and friends.

Joining in the festivities, Ivanka Trump has teamed up with GladWare to promote Cookies for Kids’ Cancer in a clever, creative fashion.

FOX 5 NY Meteorologist Nick Gregory spreads sunshine, and the entertainment lineup for Spruce Evergreen will include performances by:

Live performances from 3pm- 6pm:

Alexandra & The Starlight Band; featuring Amerika DeLuna, who’s first single “Work The Middle”, appeared on Walt Disney’s dance flick Step Up 3D;

Singer, Song Writer & Guitarist Andy Allo, who has collaborated with Prince and recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!;(Performance stage time: 4:50pm)

Apollo Theatre Winner Belinda Munro, who will also emcee the tree lighting festivities;

Blake Whyte, from the cast of Mamma Mia!;

Hollywood’s emerging vocal talent Elle Winter, currently starring in this season’s competition series, N.B.T. on Radio Disney;

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Gordon Chambers, who has penned hit songs for such iconic R&B legends as Anita Baker, Beyonce, Usher, Aretha Franklin, and Patti Labelle;

Critically acclaimed trumpeter Gabriel Johnson, who recently performed with Placido Domingo on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno;Gotham Rock Choir, NYC’s first choir devoted exclusively to performance of Pop, Rock & Soul;

Rock Star Madness Band, featuring Hannah Montana star Shanica Knowles;

Rosie’s Theater Kids, NYC’s arts education organization inspired by Rosie O’Donnell

Kind of surprised since it's a Christmas thing guess that debunks the JW thing. Although on her fcbk page it doesn't say anything about it being a holiday event...

Peri, if you read the article it specifically states it is an NYSE annual holiday, Xmas tree lighting event that apparently she and other artists have been invited to perform in, as well as some charities and celebrities who are taking part in it this year, The article has nothing to do with JWs.

More than likely over by now. I think if the announcement was made prior to yesterday, more NY fans would have been able to go, but most working New Yorkers don't get off from work until between 4pm or 5pm, and that is the height of rush hour. Lots of people traffic at that time, so Andy probably got the tourist crowd and those who work close to the Wall Street area, to see her perform. I was surprised Drfunkenberry hadn't announced it either. Andy posted about it late yesterday on her page.

I could have gone if this was last week when I was off from work, but since I just returned yesterday, I couldn't leave work early today, and had work to catch up to. I'll wait to see if any NY fan attended who decides to share how the performance went tonight, if they should post that info here or elsewhere. Anyway, she did mention on her FB page that she'll be touring the U.S. and UK in 2013.

I did read the entire article. I just stated the JW thing because people on here suggest that she and P are married. Of course if they are she'd have to be a JW and I doubt she would participate in a Xmas event (especially with him controlling everything).

Heard it was just a chill perfomance with her and her guitar like the old days. No P/NPG of course.

FYI, Andy's "team" has kindly asked if I can remove the video so I will oblige.

This was not one of Prince's idiot moves of sending his lawyers with a cease & desist or copyright claim, this was a simple request from the artist herself and when I am asked kindly and respectfully, I will do so.

In other words, Prince could learn a lesson from Andy in how to handle himself online.
