Pretty good, the horns were slammin; just wonder seem like Superconductor would have been a more jammin song to do especially since thats also the name of the album.

Oh now, that was sooo good!!! It was great to see Andy really enjoying performing & smiling & dancing. That band are so wickedly funky!!! Love it! It seemed like a really amazing atmosphere which clearly came across just watching it. Come on, admit it- which Orgers were in the crowd going mental?! Hahaha

I'm starting to suspect that Andy Allo is a CG character created by motion tracking Prince, in the same way as Golum is made in Lord of the Rings. The way she dances, hold the guitar behind her back... She even copies his facial expresions and gestures !
It's interesting how he does this: Cat was supposed to be a female version of himself back in '87. He had Mayte act as him in videos and live... I'm sure there's others....

Sheila E used to copy his moves and facial expressions as well. Wendy too, to a certain extent. The wooh is on the one!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oh yes, definately Shiela E. The way she used to count the band in. Hold her finger up for 1 beat, 2 fingers for 2 beats, etc.
Another unrelated artist who "does Prince" is Alicia Keyes. I've heard her interviewed where it looks like she's watched Princes '86 MTV Interview about 1000 times too many... all the long pauses and speaking slowly.

And now we know what Jimmy had to pay to get Prince on his show. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

^ right! | |

Another one of Prince's pygmalion projects. No wonder he is infatuated with her, he's cloned a female version of himself - minus the musical genius.

Quick, name ANY female who has made an album with Prince since 1990 who has made more than one album, and stuck around for over 16 months. Answer: NOBODY. She will follow that old Waffle Iron, Toaster Oven, Tamar, Bria Valentay/whatever, in the closet of unwanted Prince female side projects. P.S. : Her guitar is not actually connected to anything.
Actually, I wish her well, but would be shocked if SuperToasterOven sells more than 40,000. I'll probably eventually buy it, but I hardly understand why Prince spends so much time with these artists that he will brush aside within weeks after the release date when he gets bored. I think every single side project album Prince has done since 1990 added up together does not equal the sales of 3121. Can Bart Van Halen or anybody verify that...

Funny you say that, I saw somebody mentioned that the two guys standing next to Blackwell were the ones actually playing guitar live on that show.
I also noticed that Andy plugged just twice on the gutiar. I don't know why she's faking. I don't know why people think faking is acceptable and tolerate this and give their support?
I mean there is so many things that actually needs support if you wanted to support something, it does not need to be an average singer.
Somebody explain! Prince I will always miss and love U.

Yes, I am totally clowning on Andy. I actually did mean it when I said I wished her well. I have no clue if she can really play. I am not an Elvis fan by any means, but heard that for live shows, his guitar was so low in the mix, you could hardly tell he was playing. He did play in the studio, but most say real session players were brought in to overdub everything

At this point it makes absolutely no difference if she can play or can't. What people can't see through is that Prince's verbal promo "Real music by real musicians" has manifested in people's brains so deeply, that they lost the ability to differentiate. So even if Prince would put out the most fake ass protegee single everybody still would be raving and saying "Real music by real musicians". I can imagine Prince laughin his ass off about people's stupidity.
It's great people enjoy those new songs, but about 50% of those saying they do, are totally biased, but this is my opininion and I don't care what anybody thinks.
I think if you been a Prince fan of over 20+ it'd be fair to say that at the moment Prince is simply over, and it was actually Graycap who made those first observations.
Prince I will always miss and love U.

luvsexy4all said: how come kimmel has a physical CD cover???? Exactly what I thought when I saw it!! Very smart strategy she's (prince) is using: put the album up for download the release the cd after it has been bought by those who really want it. My opinion of this live act is this: 1. I don't think her guitar was plugged in 2. She sounded better than her other live act on that other show which sounded nasally. 3. Maceo & the other horn players save this song. Imagine if they were taken out of the picture - the song would be quite ordinary IMO. 4. She's way too skinny now, she has chicken legs. Would it kill her to show off her arms or chest area or wear cooler looking clothes like the jacket on her album cover? 5. Lastly, I wish she'd picked Superconductor or Yellow Gold instead of Ppl pleaser as her hit song. Peace in the House of Prince.

Couldn't agree more with everything! I think she's growing and getting more confident though. She dressed better and slightly more provocative when she was just on tour with him before she became fully 'princified'. I think she's a JW now just a feeling...especially since she never talks about holidays/birthdays anymore (i've been following her since her first CD and she used to talk about visiting fam/holidays quite a bit) so maybe she has to cover up like Bria did when she was with him.

--funny.. those legs were distracting .. I kept thinking of Kermit the Frog when I was watching the performance. I kept wondering what in the world was she wearing. Those boots and those legs...haha.. I am not feeling her voice on this one, the band sounds tight, but her voice is annoying on this song. so far the other songs sounds good. Prince seems to be molding her quite well.
I don't think she's a JW. You can't be a JW over night, it's not like joining Sam's Club. She's like any other chick in his 'world' abide by his rules or get the steppin'. Desiigner "Panda" LES TWINS x YAK FILMS | Laurent ft Skitzo & Boom Squad Inglewood (part 1)

Holly Smokes! That was awesome, the band KILLS it!

He can do as he pleases, just as we can clown on Prince for it. Why clown on him? You know that deep down, he really thinks that she is an awesome talent who could sell millions, and then the hard truth hits him, and when the album sells only a few thousand copies, he loses interest, and then another younger woman comes on the scene, and he starts the cycle all over again. Prince gives the impression that he is spiritually and emotionally lost to be in this cycle with female singers. You can throw in Misty dancing on stage with him as well...

First of all, her guitar wasn't plugged into anything - except for that wireless unit on her guitar strap. LMFAO, c'mon guys.
Second, she's not that good a performer. Smiles too much. This song isn't a happy song per se, but she's smiling all through it. It just didn't jibe.
Third, great band! What a horn section! I doubt she can afford to keep them around but I would LOVE to see a whole show with that horn section.
