I like Andy.

She is a good musician with a great stage presence. She is beautiful and fun. Not arrogant or fake at all. I really think she'll be able to build up a career in music, next to her modeling career.

Sure the other musicians in the band are better on their instruments than Andy, but the reason she got an album (other than sleeping with Prince ) is that she is a singer/songwriter. Yes she had no place in his band, but she does have a place making records. Ida & John Blackwell belong onstage with Prince, or on other peoples' records.

Nobody is going to buy a John Blackwell record. I suppose Shelby could make an album, but I probably wouldn't want to buy it, either!

Mary J Blige has had a career of off key moments...yet she sells out venues with her life story (to paraphrase Chris Rock - you got off drugs like you're SUPPOSED too ). Alicia Keys was an awful singer live early on, clearly she has worked on it.
I don't have a like or dislike for Andy Allo as a musician, but there are far worse examples of people making a living being terrible. She's young, at least she might learn a thing or two and get better.

She indeed is not perfect. And I like the imperfectness better than perfection.

Eg, I like her all natural pictures; the photo shopped ones not so much.

She's playing the guitar for just a few years, I think she's doing fine. She's not the greatest guitar talent around, but she's practicing and making it work.

I've seen her perform and the audiance responses strongly to her. You may not like her voice, she has touched me when she sang their Amy Winehouse tribute. I thank her for that, because I cherish that moment.

I like her, not because she is perfect, but because her positive radiance and willingness to do it all. She also could have stayed in her room and not come out until she reached perfection. Fortunately she isn't a people pleaser and she has the guts to go out there and give us the best she can.

Here it's been about a good 6 months or so of people bitching about Andy Allo but still jocking her every move because it may involve Prince. The other ladies in the band are talented as some of you have said but how many of you singing their praises actually has supported their work with dollars? You don't hear about their projects on here ad naseum because there's no Prince involvement and that's the "only" reason some of y'all pay attention to anyone mentioned on this site.

If I'm going to have to wade throiugh posts telling me I have no taste musically can we at least get a spell check up in here. To quote Tony M., "It's getting ig'nant"

When did you hear me say that she could play guitar? You said she can't but and a bunch of other shit. So maybe she doesn't belong in the NPG, but if you say you have no doubt the album is good, then what's the big deal, really? Supposedly she wrote most of the songs, and nobody is doubting that she was thrilled to work with Prince. And they made a decent album. So what's the issue?
