It's so weird that he's giving this song to a protegee instead of releasing it for himself. Oh wait, he just released a llame song?

That situation alone proves that he's gone koo koo lately. A very odd decision, kinda creepy.

Also kinda weird... that the video seems more about the hornz than Andy?

Don't get me wrong, the hornz sound great but they seem to take the spotlight and there's like 4 horn solo's in the song.

Yeah I thought she was a guitarist but she doesn't play any in the video and I barely hear any in the song at all.

No, not weird at all. I begin to get the vision that Prince is aiming for this protege project. It's no longer about Andy anymore, it's about NPG, and she's part of the NPG. I think she had authenticity when she did her own thing as an artist, but now this is stripped down, she lost everythign that made AA as an authentic new singer. This is overall a good decision for her, cause when she's no longer with the NPG she might have a chance as a singer, cause without this never in a million years she'd have the chance. I mean she just doesn't have an outstanding voice, does she? This is her only chance to shine is being that - a protege. I do view her as Carmen but with a better sound production, not the voice.

Kudos to Prince, he knows what he's doing and the video is a prove for this. I hope he'll release this song with his own voice layered, cause this song is just not good enough for me to have it on repeat.

I see what you are saying but I don't think it's a good career move for Andy. I actually liked her better before she got all NPG'd on us. Although it's only the first single so we'll have to wait for the rest of the Album. I do think this song would have been better with Prince singing on it and would have been a much better single release for him instead of RNR affair.

I agree it's not a good career move, cause she'll be remembered as one of Prince's proteges, but there is big hope. Surely she's hoping to be remebered as the next Chaka Khan, it gives Prince good exposure but he's not daft. I wonder why he has not kept this song for himself. Does he think it's not good enough to be released as Prince song? I think it's about time he releases something, what is he waiting for, what is all this crap with RNR nonsense etc..

I could be fooling myself, but to me People Pleaser doesn't sound like a prince original. It sounds like someone else's song with prince's input. I think it has a certain... I hate to say it... amateur quality to it.
