^^^She wrote the lyrics on most songs. Prince produced most (if not all) of the music. So yes, he gave this superfunky track to Ms. Allo.

The HORNZ are amazing. Hornheadz, Maceo and Shorty KILLED IT.

This is Prince tearing the ol' skool fonk a new one. Just overwhelmed with the groove on this one.

Only minus is hit and miss vocals from Allo. Sometimes they don't match the fierce production, whereas other times it's cool like the closing line.

Oh and this in no way would fit on 20ten. I'm absolutely confused by that observation, 20ten was a mostly electro affair, People Pleaser is opposite....the closest album is Musicology.

As I said in the other thread, which was oddly closed for whatever reason, I don't get it why was it a problem to have another Andy thread, since this section is loaded with Andy Allo threads already, but I'm glad this forum is finally not only about her, this song sound more and more like a rip off off of Jeff Lorber's song "Rain Dance". Just listen to it and you will hear there are a lot of similarities. Sure a lot of you would agree.

Sounds good to me. Finally he has a vocalist with some style.

I don't think Andy produced much of the music on her album. Prince said at the aftershow in Chicago that she came to him with the lyrics and he told her that he liked it, but she needed some funk on it. She then told him, "Prince do whatever you want." At that point in his story he got excited and hopped from one leg to the other while screaming, "Owww!" It was all very dramatic.

As I also mentioned on the thread that was closed, I think that "Rain Dance" may be an influence. The horns do break in a staccato way that sounds strikingly similar to the horns in Rain Dance.

You know what's funny? Andy's vocals on Unfresh sound a lot stronger. I just went back to Unfresh to take a listen, and though I do still think her voice is better suited for coffee house music, she definitely had a fuller voice on just about every song on that album. What gives with her voice on People Pleaser?

I actually wouldn't mind hearing Shelby take lead on it.

I think her strong voice might be better suited for music.

The jazziness of the hornz mostly reminds me of Indigo Nights, specially 3121 and Satisfied. I think there are a few moments where it could have benetiffted from an eric Leeds arrangement. No one can touch him, not even Maceo.

finally gave in and bought it - studio version is way better than the flat live ones we have seen on tv - the horns rock!

Have been listening to Andy's "UnFresh" on Spotify several days now. I really like it! So I'm kind of curious about "Supoerconductor" now. Don't think "People Pleaser" is the best tune of them all.

Would be nice for her to develop her own sound though...like she was doing with Unfresh...

First time I heard it was when she performed at North Sea Jazz Festival.

And now it gets good airplay at my favorite radio station in Holland; Radio 6.

THe dj's really seem to like the song, they also mention Maceo's contribution

Today I heard Andy & Larry, however nothing from Prince

Haven't heard them playing R&R love affair yet.
