Andy Allo announces website scrapped and album coming soon due to a deal with a store (still no DATE though!!)

From her Fbook:

UPDATE:
Hi Superconductors!
I know you're anxiously waiting for the record and I assure you it will be in your hands very soon. The AlloEvolution site did not come out as envisioned so we are starting from the beginning. We are working diligently and tirelessly to get something to you as soon as possible.
Also we are finalizing a deal with a big store that will be selling Superconductor. Fingers Crossed and I'll be able to announce who it is. smile
Thanks for being so understanding and supportive..

Hmmm..well beware, she says they are 'finalizing' a deal meaning although it's likely it's not yet done. Remember how close Tamar's album came to release before Universal pulled it or The Bla.....ok I won't go on!!! It isn't official until it's sitting on the shelves in Target!!! wink

^ LOL. Actually ironically, they'd probably get higher royalties doing a deal with them than he got with WB!!!

I'm hoping that maybe Target will agree only if Prince releases it with a new album of his too wink

I can't see Target doing a deal with P again. They still have copies of Lotus on their shelves they can't move for $4.99.

You gotta respect Allo for speaking on the issue directly, because we know Prince is calling all the shots and she has essentially no control over any of it.

To me, it would make more sense for them to try to get a retailer like Starbucks for Andy's music.

How the fuck can a website "not come out as envisioned"? What's so hard in making a website? Did they hire an amateur to do it, who screwed-up so massively that they had to fire him and start from sratch with another? This is so weird if you ask me eek

My guess, based on past history, is that it's probably more likely the web developers were not getting paid and took a stand to not finish the site or launch it until they were made whole.

Have Starbucks gotten over their money issues yet? If that is the feel of the album, not a bad idea, they could give her first single away with every coffee purchase, so you can decide from that whether to proceed with the album.

I really can't understand why Prince can't pull it together. He has enough resources to have the website developed and the CDs pressed. Sheila E. and the E Family don't have nearly as much money as he does, but they managed to promote the E Family album, tour it, sell it at the tour locations and sell it on their website (and actually fulfill orders). Eventually it even ended up on Amazon. This is just not rocket science.

Andy did listening parties in L.A. and Chicago--both major market cities where she could have easily had CDs ready to sell. Instead she sold t-shirts (at least in Chicago). The poor guy at HOB sold one t-shirt and then sat there surfing the internet for the majority of the event.

Hell, Andy did better than this putting out her first album. This is just silly. Maybe it's something I'm missing. I'm all for being unconventional, but even Prince needs to acknowledge that some processes and procedures just work. Who has a listening party and doesn't have the album ready for purchase nearing a month after the listening party?

I'm not sure if they are over their money issues, but I still see lots of cds in Starbucks.

I love the idea about giving away the single.

I also had a thought that maybe they could do something with SiriusXM and try to get a couple of their formats to play her music. She could also do a few jam sessions on a few of the formats.

Yea it's rather disappointing. At least he admitted in that Chicago interview that he's not a good businessman. I'm sure Andy's frustrated too and methinks she may cut ties with him soon over this album.
