Superconductor about to leak?

oh dear, just got a message from a hardcore purple head who tells me that the inevitable is about to happen. Looks like the leak will be soon. So annoying and P and his camp only have themsleves to blame. Considering a big percentage of sales will come from us this project is potentially dead before it starts.

Andy, I hope it is a lesson learned - get away from that man !

This is silly.

Whoever planned to buy it will buy it anyway.

Whoever planned to downlload it for free would have downloaded it for free after release anyway.

I can't see how this could have any impact on sales.

yeahthat

I bought a copy of Tamar's CD recently on eBay that managed to escape the recall. Obviously there are cheaper ways I could have gotten that music. If Andy's CD leaks before it is available for sale, they shouldn't blame the fans. I will not download it because I'm mainly interested in the CD as a collector's item.

Seriously the ego of Prince fans that our dollars are making or breaking any project by anyone. If Prince fans are such a force why hasn't everything Prince dropped gone platinum on GP. We're are small group and most of the hardcores are cheapskates in the first place. Everyone made up their minds months ago on how they were going to get 'Superconductor' this alleged leak isn't going to change that.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

It isn't that Prince fans are such a force - it's that they're likely the only ones who will know about/buy this.

Well...i did get the feeling she'd end up like Tamar...the album would only come out via bootleg due to disagreements etc etc quite why they can't release it like she did her last album is another matter......i think it must be down to $$$ and rights etc etc

If Larry Graham can get an album out there not sure why P with all his clout can't but i get the feeling again its down to $$$ or rights or internal disagreements....

If its leaking i suppose its the insiders way of saying this is never getting released.....just like with Tamar's album...

theft?, maybe borne of frustration?. I for one will not be downloading it for now...but as in the case of Tamars Milk & Honey which got shelved and then came came out on bootleg the line was blurred!.

All she needs to do is get a damn date released on her facebook that she 100% knows will be achieved and the problem is solved. It really is that easy!!.

You are right XxAxX. It is theft, but some people just don't get it.

evil fuckers have no clue about how hard it is to create an entire album of original songs, tweaking it to get it just right, doing the art, reworking it and then boom! someone steals your work and publishes it before you are even finished with it? honestly, how could a person get lower than that?

I don't know how lower someone can get, but she's more occupied to announce that she's in love than the release date for her album, that quite frankly nobody is interested in.

Since she's in love, her album does not matter anymore, and really never mattered. lol

How is this even possible, considering there would only be limited copies in circulation at this time? Is this a possible publicity stunt to get more attention on the album before it is released??

If its available to buy, I'll buy it....I'll also download it, in case it never comes out - just like Tamar's album. Simple as that!!

the reason for the delay is interesting....I guess we'll find out if it really is a 'distribution thing' or something else eventually - but this wreaks of a 'purple' presence....and now that he's burning bridges not only in the recording industry but also with 'deals' for live shows its gonna get interesting.... he's gonna find it hard enough to get a distribution deal for himself let alone a 'protegee'....

bullshit speculation. YOU have no idea how she feels about her work. YOU are not the one who created it. YOU cannot speak about the mindset of someone whom you've never met. give it a rest and for god's sake stop believe the crap you see written here.

please. more than 17 people will buy her album. this gal has a following of her own that pre-dates prince. whether or not prince will prove to be helpful to her career is beginning to seem questionable. personally, i think she'd be better off following her own path, since it is truly 'her' and what she does best.

people here are assholes. let's just get that out the way right now. and if someone leaks her work there will be a percentage of folk who steal the album then say ''meh' it weren't that great.' (even if it it is 'great' to other people).

they will post their opinion here and elsewhere on the net, and people will be influenced into not buying it even before it has been released, and without even listening to see if they like it for themselves.

and although there are those who will buy the official version, there are plenty who will steal it and never pay the price. we've seen this happen to prince before. why do you suppose he stopped releasing music via the internet? did you follow what happened to stephen king when he tried his 'download.publishing' experiment on the honor system?

this is why prince says the interent is over. and it's sad because it ain't the internet that sucks, it's the theiving assholes who hang here. they say there is honor among thieves but i sincerely doubt it.

KING KILLS "PLANT"
After posting several chapters to the Internet, author Stephen King has pulled the plug on his web/shareware publishing experiment. King had been serializing his novel, "The Plant," trusting readers to pay for the chapters with their credit cards after downloading them. When fewer than half of those who downloaded the latest installment failed to pay, King decided to fold his tents and return to paper full time -- for the present, at least. Why didn't the King of horror lit publish one or two chapters free, hook his loyal readers, and THEN commence charging for the installments? The devoted fans who followed King's honor system are now left high and dry. On his website, King outlined what he saw as the three large problems facing Internet publishing: "One is that most Internet users seem to have the attention span of grasshoppers. Another is that Internet users have gotten used to the idea that most of what's available to them on the Net is either free or should be. The third -- and biggest -- is that book-readers don't regard electronic books as real books."

i try to ignore your extreme rude words, but it's not easy; you attack ALL people in this forum . . . and this says alot . . . it only describes your* own character wink

* i mean with 'you' everybody here who hide behind the anonymity of the internet and uses all the kind of F*** and as***-words for attacking other people - i wish the rules of this board would be more stricktly

but now i explain how i'm ticking, and i speak only for myself:

i recently downloaded the new Larry Graham Album on a well known orange cloud site, before it was released, listened the files and i didn't liked much what i heard.

but in the same evening i went to the Music store and pre-ordered the Album (Vinyl & CD) because i collect Prince Music since 1985.

so if (there's no Tamar incident and) it will be available in any form i will do the same with Superconductor and all other releases in the future. . .

i don't care about what other people do or not.

but i experience already the sad consequences of the many illegal downloads and the only digital releases: the market is totally across, you can't buy real CD Singles and some albums anymor. Also the 2nd hand market is expire for new music . . . thank you.

O.K. the 25 years ago same was said about vinyl, but vinyl is still alive and i hope the Download generation wil come back to real life and buy CD's (even when they rip them later on mobile players, like i do)

Where is Andy Allo's music any different from anybody else? lol Shit, Lady Gaga's album got leaked too, it didn't stop her from selling a mil the first week out. Andy Allo's fan base isn't really even that big in the first place. She wasn't going to sell crazy amounts anyway lol. No one talks about her, other than Prince fans. I liked her music before she linked up with Prince, so I would check her new album out regardless. Every body's music gets leaked, so where is she an exception? lol

A "leak" would be the best thing that could happen to the album. Assuming it is an enjoyable record, and not another wet-blanket jw preach party, a leak is the ONLY way people will ever hear enough of it to be interested in a purchase. Prince's IHeartRadio appearance timed with the RandR Affair release, shows me, he at least gets that he has to pay for airplay. That might have been a test run for Andy's album release. Only Prince is not especially good at playing the back. If he can get mainstream exposure for Andy, I think with his ego, he will be inclined to ask why not just keep that opportunity for himself? I expect a new Prince album before the end of the year.

you don't offend my sensibilities - you describe just yourself . . .

obviously you don't (want to) understand because of your rude & absurd stubbornness - i can't feel guilty about your slander, because to Download something and buy it on the same day (or a week later) is no loss or damage to noone. There's NOTHING stolen. Because I'VE PAID the FULL PRICE! I'ts like a prelisten in a record Store or when a Radio Station play a new Album . . . even when i delete the files and not buy the album.

goodbye - i'm not in the mood to flog a dead horse - i'm off

here

one more (last) thing, before you throw with stones, doublecheck your own conscience: are you sure you don't have a skeleton in the cupboard ?

bye.
