Carmen Electra's PP album on iTunes Not sure how long it's been there or if it's been mentioned here already, but Carmen Electra's 1992 Paisley Park album is now on iTunes. It's got a new cover and has been re-titled to "This Is My House."

Very odd happenings. Probably worked something out with Prince in order to create some synergy for that new song she's got out, I guess?

Either that or WB happens to own the masters to this one (unlikely, though). If not, it's very surprising that Prince would allow this.
The new cover and title are a ridiculous move to say the least. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I just noticed this on the i-tunes page:
So WB has nothing to do with this and she indeed made a deal with Prince. How surprising! I wonder if other ex-protégés could do the same. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Why are we assuming that she made a deal with Prince? If Paisley Park owns the rights, couldn't Prince had made the (absurd) decision to re-release it with a new name and cover? For some reason I could see him getting irritated with her for recording music again, seeing as how he threatened to kill her in the Eye hate U remix back in the day for owing him "a million right or more" for the recording of this album. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

A million eight or more, I think!

He threatened to kill her? Seriously?

I can't understand why either one of them would be interested in a new audience getting their hands on this work.
But there it is on iTunes anyway.

I don't think it qualifies as an actual death threat, but yeah in song he definitely did... I miss that unhinged part of his personality. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

You are correct, it could actually be Prince's move.
It's just that considering... - how little interest he seems to have for doing something with his back catalogue - how little money there is to make with rereleasing an album that everyone has been downloading for free for years - Prince is pissed by the fact that iTunes won't pay advances ... it seemed so unlikely that I didn't even think about it but yeah, after all you may be right.
I think after almost 20 years, any grudge he had against Carmen and Tony is long gone... A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Carmen, yes. Tony? I doubt it. That grudge isn't going away. Tony sued him, didn't he? Him and Levi.

Yeah, and Levi apparently just "disappeared" one day, not showing at PP and never calling again... Probably Prince doesn't consider these people as "friends" anymore (if ever), but IDK, Prince is so immensively rich and he seems to be happy with his life nowadays, so i doubt he holds grudges anymore... I guess u get above that at some point, and time helps... A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I like the track "All that" with the music from the Prince classic ballad 'Adore". It puts a different spin on it. I LOVE that Adore music track.... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

This is a bootleg. Mark my words. It will get pulled. |

I had this cd last year. I couldn't bring myself to upload it to my computer though. The only track I kept was Step To The Mic, and even then I was kind of embarrassed
This CD is definitely not worth the plastic it's made of "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

I agree its def a bootleg, the issue with iTunes and its happend alot before is that its really easy to get stuff on there they dont check into much "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

It's happened to me. An album I did with my band for an independent label back in 2004 mysteriously resurfaced on iTunes and all the digital sites in 2008 or so.
Except, the original deal with the label was a licensing deal that had actually expired and they didn't have the rights to it anymore. In that time frame, the label went bust, sold their catalog to another label and had included our album in that deal as it was a big seller, even though they didn't have permisssion to. So the new label went and put it on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc without our permission or knowledge.
And then - get this - that label tried to sue US because we'd done our own digital deal for a expanded, re-recorded, updated version of that album that had already been online for years! We counter-sued, provided all the evidence and beat their asses into submission!
