While there are some persons I can think of that are "free" to be stuck in their old antiquated ways of doing things. It is so good to see REAL ARTISTS like Sheila E and George Clinton embracing and enjoying being connected with their fans old AND new via the internet.

The following videos were taken and posted by someone in the audience to Youtube. They are now posted on her Official Facebook Fan Page. Very much unlike those supposed "free" persons, I can think of. Sheila E has no problems with us watching, enjoying and most importantly SHARING them!

Why do you think being an associated artist is a bad thing? her whole career as Sheila E was founded by Prince, it doesn't matter what anyone feels about Prince at any given moment.

But again, the excitement she is generating, still comes from in a large way -Prince. Its songs from 2011 till now like Pop Life America A Love Bizarre Olivers House KooKoo the Belle of St Mark Erotic City the Glamorous Life etc that she has being playing that generates that excitement, and Eddie M at shows, double shows with "the Family"

Well a good way to 'get from underneath' would be to remove any Prince related material from the set - ain't gonna happen though, right! Let's not pretend that Sheila E's fanbase doesn't have a significant Prince association; and let's not forget that most even current interviews Sheila E gives mention the Prince association

I'm cool with using the association to her advantage as I suspect is she - but fans need to get a little real here. Just sayin......

at a few shows she pulled out either the same or a remake of her popular 1985 Romance 1600 suite, she's been doing more and more songs from the Glamorous Life - Sheila E + Erotic City

jamming more with Eddie M and doing shows with the Family... how is that trying to get from underneath Prince's shadow?

I swear some fans simply wanna create a drama where there simply aint one - all we know is P and Sheila had a fall out during the W2 tour - for all we know that could've blown over.

W&L, members of TO7 and Fdeluxe have all mentioned, this year no less, that they have had positive contact with Prince this year - Sheila and P will sort it out (maybe - that's for them).

I'm not saying that Prince had nothing to do with her career because they are on the outs at the moment. I honestly don't give a damn about that because it's none of my business.

But the only way for her to do what you think she is is to stop associating with live BrownMark, Wendy & Lisa, fDeluxe, Eddie M and stop doing Erotic City, A Love Bizarre, the Glamorous Life, Leader of the Band(song Prince gave 2 her last year) Get on the Boat, Olivers House, the Belle of St Mark, Koo Koo etc

She is shining brightly and her association with Prince isn't overshadowing her at all.

And I believe it was at the beginning of this year at a few shows where she had her show start out with Prince's voice saying something about her

Sheila has always celebrated those years. And she is doing a 'seperate thing' with her family's music

I totally understand your point, but it's a weird point.

Here you are trying to seperate her from Prince, while she is turning up the Purple association in her shows, and you posting this in Prince.org site. Just up till last year she was touring with Prince come on.. she isn't being pigeonholed as only being connected to Prince by no one.

You are missing the whole point of the associated artist thread. Do you think Larry G being posted in the Associated artist thread is being 'overshadowed' by his association with Prince?

We get it already! You(and half of the universe) have issues with Prince. If you want Sheila from under his shadow then stop "subtly" referencing him on the thread so "supposedly" created for her. If that´s the case; he can be so unreasonable!!

Why is he so paranoid, he´s known as a great live performer so why should it be a problem if someone uploads this?? I know, he´s a controle freak and is afraid some "lesser-good" material

could be out there accessible 4 everyone. Sheila E sure doesn´t deserve this treatment
