I'm listening to their album at the moment and I can't believe what they did with this album. Like they just dropped it and that was it. It's a fantastic album and deserved much more. There are enough singles on the album. They should have toured.

I can't believe there is or was no tour and the fall out with Jesse Johnson is something I never saw coming. I am a HUGE The Time/O7 fan and 2 have 1 of the 7 bounce and all this fall out with 1 another is truly sad. So many groups have fallen off becuz of sillyness be it money, egos , "direction of the group" etc. I love this Condensate cd and DVD that was included was a bonus there is 2 much talent among all those guys 4 them 2 not promote this kick ass cd.
Ironically Morris Day and The Time will be at the OK.K.Klan....homa State Fairgrounds this Friday 21 Sept. I will Mos Def be there but I prefer The O7 members then have Jesse do some solo stuff within the show Morris as well. Just a dream but if Prince and the Revloution and The Time/O7 toured 2gether in a Battle of the Bands type of way that would be the Shizznit.

Morris and the boys are playing a show in NJ at the end of the month with George Clinton. So they're still doing their thing..just a little low key.

I think this thread is referring to the Original members, O7. but that concert with Morris Day and the Time and George Clinton sounds like a good show too.

But @ least i got to experience their one show they had here in lA @ Club Nokia late last year. It was still magical. They still got it. Now Jesse is still on tour with D'angelo! will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

The way I see it....we got a fantastic album from them.A tour would have been nice, but maybe it's just not possible at this time.We just have to enjoy the music.Condensate is a superb album.A live performance lasts two hours, but you can enjoy the CD for the rest of your life. That's how I look at it

I saw there first show here in Los Angeles, CA and the boys were tight! You felt the love and respect among them....what went wrong? I really enjoyed the boys..... "A united state of mind will never be divided

Honestly while I love the Time. I think that unless they tour with Prince or some band of a higher R&B caliber band to bring out the best in them, it's pointless. Under a normal setting the Time (I refuse to say O7 or whatever) are just some friends jamming. With a challenge they become a force to be reckoned with.

I've loved the fella's since i was a little girl,i saw them live in london 1990 & couldn't stop smiling thru the whole gig The album is great, they didn't let me down! I'm still holding onto a little bit of hope that i will see them in london again some day. I actually just got this albuma week or so ago (VERY late to the party, i know). And aside from one or two of the tracks, I'm not overly fond of this album. Morris' solo work in the 80's was way better then this. IDK, just not my cup of tea maybe.

I don't think many people know the album exists, it's on a small label. The name change doesn't help, as the average person is not going to look for "Original 7ven". Maybe they should have picked something with similar spelling like "The Tyme", although there is a doo wop group named "The Tymes". You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. This is the final nail in the coffin I guess...pity that such a good album could be treated with such apathy by it's own creators.
I will cherish Condensate and wish the fellas well but I don't have any interest in supporting the same old, same old when I've seen what they are capable of.
If they're too old, tired and set in their ways to care then why should I? At this point I will concede that perhaps Jesse picked up on their attitude and that's what turned him off, although I still don't like the way he went about leaving the group.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

WHAT A SHAME!!!
When this CD dropped I would have never thought in a million years this would happen. Funny how things turn out. Egos are a bitch!!!

what i dont understand is why even do the project or make a big deal about it if u not gonna support it?? maybe they didnt intend on touring they just wanted 2 do the cd. i see the hold up being jesse, jimmy and terry cuz morris, monte and jellybean still tour as the time

Here's how it should've played out after Condensate dropped.
Morris Day & The Time should've disbanded.
The O7 should've started booking gigs in the same venues MD & The Time were getting gigs at.
Jam & Lewis should've taken a step back from producing for a brief time to support Condensate.
More television appearances and probably 2 more videos to promote the CD and keep their new name fresh in peoples minds.
What happened was unfortunate for the fans above all because we've waited for this reunion for quite some time. I don't fault Jesse for leaving because he wanted to hit the road and start making a return on his investment in The O7. Also I think Morris wasn't ready to give up the cash cow he has with MD & The Time since he continued to book gigs well into 2012.
Well that's life! When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I don't think music videos would make much of a difference. As of right now, the Trendin' video has 120,768 views on Youtube. Here's counts from other veteran acts with fairly recent videos:

^^ unfortunately,80s funk bands don't have that same kind of enduring popularity that many of those pop artists (Madonna,Van Halen,The Cars, etc) still have.
I can't think of any other 80s funk bands who have enjoyed a big-selling album in recent years. Most of them don't even have record deals anymore. We should grateful that we even got an album from Morris and the guys.

A tour is always nice but for me,it's not always necessary.I'm just happy to have a new CD from these guys.A concert is a 2-hour experience, but I can listen to the CD for the rest of my life.
I'd be perfectly satisfied if they never toured, but got together every few years to make a new CD.I'd settle for that.

Having videos does make a huge difference. People are so damn lazy nowadays, and artists have to work much harder to get attention towards their music. Many people are used to listening to he first 20 second of each song before they put it on a party playlist. Only time they listen to music is when they party drunk, or when they traveling with their ipod. Music videos is a very good marketing technique. Blending visual elements with music is a MUST! I have experienced that having videos does alot to gain interest towards an album. Many would never hear about an album if the video wasn't there. My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

Months before this album was released, there was a report that L.A. Reid was interested in signing the guys to the label that he's in charge of (I think it's Def Jam?).In retrospect, the guys probably should have went there.I bet we would have gotten a few singles and videos.
These are the singles that should have been released:
"Trendin' "If I Was Your Man" "Faithful"
Modern R&B stations (which play alot of stuff by the likes of R.Kelly and Charlie Wilson) would have surely embraced those songs. The potential was there.

Seriously? After all of the whining they did about the name change to just drop the project that way was disrespectful to everyone who supported them. Yeah we got a CD of great music but to make the name change seem like such a hardship when they obviously had bigger issues brewing was a low brow tactic. They banked on the 'rivalry' between them and Prince and couldn't be bothered to see it through to prove who was better. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Part of what made the Time famous are their live shows so for many of us to settle just for a cd, as good as it may be, its still a little dissappointing.

Videos might have been important in the 1980's when they were shown on TV. It's like the radio, it's advertising the song, and also acts you might not have heard otherwise. But with watching music videos online, people mostly search for acts they like already or ones they don't to leave negative comments. The video views don't really equate to sales. It's been said that Lionel Richie has one of the biggest selling albums released this year. It wasn't because people watched his videos, it was because he went on the Home Shopping Network and appeared on country music programs. Van Halen hasn't gone platinum and they toured and did magazine interviews. If watching videos on Youtube really helped sales, then all of those newer acts with 100 million plus views would have sold that many albums or singles.
