How do you define an 'obscure location' on the web? It wasn't on her main site.
Where did you find it? Had some Prince fansite/group/etc... posted it? Uh huh.
Yes, it should have been password protected. Lack of password doesn't mean it's open. It just points to lack of experience on the part of the web developers.
FWIW, the site is now closed and Andy has posted info to say that it isn't the official site, which suggests that even if, by the broadest possible definition of the term, it was "open" yesterday, it isn't today and presumably won't be again.
The next news we hear concerning the website will presumably be updates to her official site.

The site contents have disappeared now, but the link was posted in another forum. The server belongs to this company http://www.lojogroup.com/.
Lack of lock on your door means I cannot open the door? Lack of experience is no excuse.
So Andy & co learned from this experience? More than P does from his websites? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Personally I'm not very fond of the kind of light "girlish" voice Andy got. I prefer more powerful female voices like Shelby Jones and Rosie Gaines. Still interested in hearing the CD.

Which is how most will probably remain. One listen, import the good song(s) into iTunes or similar, put it back on the shelf never to be touched again... We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

The mod deleted that link here after finding out it was not from an official source. If you notice, it was no one from Andy's camp who posted that link on this site and said it was an official link, nor was there an official announcement or press release that the site opened earlier than it's orginal live date. That link was posted here by an orger, who apparently took the liberty of posting that link here on their own.

That's exactly what I always do. I always buy a digipak (or limited edition) over the standard cd release. I transfer everything to iTunes as a lossless file (huge) and then place my cds away only to be looked at on occasion. Some digipaks are really nice and for those I buy special covers.
Anyway I still like the cover. She has working relations with Prince so it's bound to have some takkiness about it: that's par for the course.
But seriously do none of these cunts (excuse the word but they really fuck me off) know of Amazon!? Thank fuck I don't have to buy my groceries or utilities from a Prince-run website. I'd be sat in the dark, cold and hungry.

The mod deleted to show the oh so normal censorship of these times. The reasons are weak. Why does the supposed source of the content have to announce a url to be allowed to post it here? It's censorship and you'll deny it.
They were too amateurish to handle stuff and that shows. Here they merely cover for them. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Wrong again. There was no official announcement that the link was official or that the site went live, so the mods had the right to see that link as unofficial info or just rumored info, and remove the link. Also, in re of the bolded section of your post, for starters, the OP of that post, never mentioned a source stating the link went live before the actual release date, and unfortunately some believed it was available to purchase the music, when they saw the link, and tried to register and gave their cc info. So yes, it would only take 'common sense' to know that it is better to be careful and make sure a link is official, and not someone scamming fans for personal info. I don't think that's too difficult for you to comprehend. Whoever said 'being careful' is a crime, but hey continue wallowing over it if that makes you feel better.

Being well trained in network security, I would highly advise that anyone who gave their credit info over to an unknown site such as that immediately contact their bank and request a new one.

As with past experiences ordering anything from a Prince-related website, I'm sure your order did fail. You won't get the CD. But I'm sure you'll get charged all 3 times for it. That's how these things work.

There was no 'work in progress', 'beta', 'under construction', 'no access allowed for whoever' etc. The on-screen content is the real deal. So the 'status' of announced or not decides for the censor if he/she can censor the shit out of something innocent as hell? It merely shows how far the mores have gone in the former USA. They (the mods and the site-builders as well as Allo) are too scared to bear any responsibility, the justice has too far gone and the effects are everywhere. One short sentence, a password or whatever would have made things ueber clear.
Yikes. It just shows how bad the situation, your society, has come. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

The website could be found by searching "alloevolution" it was at the top of the google search and has it been confirmed the site is official but in Dev??? If it is then it was a fubar on the part of the web developer but oh well snafu. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

What part didn't you get that the site wasn't ready or that there was no official announcement stating that the site went live or was accessible for purchases?
At the end of the day, it doesn't make sense for you to stress over it and get your blood pressure raised, about something you or any of us had no control over. You'd be better off going out and getting some sunshine and enjoying the rest of your day. All anyone can do is be patient, and just wait for an announcement from the proper sources, when the site actually opens. That is all. Take care.

Hey, even more reason to simply make the site uncaccessible for us until the release date is due. But of course no criticism is written by the mods, yet censorship is the tool to use. Who did (also) send an email to the Allo webmistress? (the proper way to solve a perceived 'problem')

I think they did a nice job with whatever this is, promo package or the actual cd cover.
If I didn't know who Andy Allo was/is and I saw this cd in the store, I would definitely pick it up to check it out and then I would just google her, then promptly return it to the shelf, j/k.
But seriously, I definitely do agree that this particular packaging is beautiful and love the symbol. I agree that her full name needs to be on the cd cover somewhere, but not necessarily her picture.
I do wish Andy and Prince much success on this project, since I do not own all of Prince's stuff, it is not imperative that I go out and buy this one when it drops.

Where did anyone say that whatever URL I found that would point to whatevr site that would resemble a legit storefront, perating and ready, to be not 'live' yet and to be censored from my memory?
I do not recall.
Furthermore, the fact that you think I spend too much energy over this makes it at least significant to you that you spend less energy over this and perhaps even too little energy over this. It is important to learn to bear responsibility and to think of your own. So THEY should have kept the site hidden, closed and unaccessible before the site was meant to be ready. So THE MOD should not have simply censored info that was available in at least two other places but should have done the responsibel thing: message the webmistress of Allo's site. Censorship is a grave action that is way out of scope here: the negative effects are nill (except perhaps in the USA) and the image you project with this censorship is beyond 1984. Also the censorship was not very effective (and I wasn't even searching) which makes the situation even more sad.
A responsible webmistress on Allo's site could have avoided a lot of hassle and confusion. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

All feels so last minute. Like if they really gave a fuck they would have taken pre-orders and mailed them so people would rcv physicial copies around the date of the release. And from the looks of the web site they are charging $9 cd and $9 per download, why not bundle that if you do it last min?
I like Andy and being a prince-completist I will in the end get but when I see the competition they are up against. Geez, majority of indie artists send out signed copies to first 1000 preorders. The majority of cds I buy are signed copies they at least keep value. Even established artists, signed copies from Meat Loaf, Alice Cooper, Kaiser Chiefs, Papa Roach, etc. They understand how to treat people and make core fans instead of running things haphazzardly. Will have to see what they end up doing but I hope they also sell copies through amazon, i would feel better about it. [Edited 9/16/12 9:26am] What are you outraged about today? Prince does not appreciate fans! He thinks he can rip people off all the time, cause he is God. If he wouldn't have that approach, maybe fans wouldn't try to rip him off either. Andyvolution is just his lame excuse for not wanting to release an album, and he's treating it as it's the best shit ever coming from Prince. Who is he kidding? Lmao!
I have no dime to spend on nonsense like this, but I'll try to rip him off, cause it's just what he's trying to do with the ticket prices and his debut of cover songs. People are not fuckin stupid, I sometimes think he forgets that kinda thing, cause he doesn't care. He's got the money and fame already, why care?!
Andy Ello, what?! Lmao! I'm already bored with her pretentious bla bla without even having heard the album, but we have witnessed her stage presence and abilities last year, so some know what we are talkinga bout. If some are so desperate for music, there are tons out there, that are far better than this nonsense. I'm over with it. Yuks!
And Prince can keep his projects locked in the vault. This stinks to the MAX!

1) Because your profile clearly states that you hate everything. So why are you here? 2) Anyone can clearly see from your profile that you don't post anything but negative rants, 50% of the time completely off topic. 3) You come to a forum of Prince fans to seek attention by posting baiting comments that nobody wants to hear for th 1000th time. 99% of my posts are on topic. Could you say the same? Change it one more time..

A little harsh (don't really advocate the whole "rip him off" thinking but I get it) however you are speaking volumes! And eventually all the 'fams' will figure it out too.
PEACE!
