The Village People look was nice, but I'd probably kill myself if he ever lost the minge-tickler as well.

I like it! | |

that really was enjoyable. Whatever anyones thoughts are on his influence on P ,his talent & that of the band cannot be denied. Of course there will be a handful of MF's on here who will rip this footage apart but what do they know!.
Thanks for putting it up there Freaky.

No need to apologize... Larry is amazing! I love him...
He gets ripped apart on here by people who admittedly know nothing about his music, because they're too busy worrying about things that aren't their business.

Oh man Larry is so funky! Would just love to see GCS live in September in London but past two shows were postponed & plane tickets can be expensive! Who knows, maybe I'll get to go, maybe, maybe not. I'd dance my funky wee feet off if I got to go! The tunes will be truely mega.

Yes, at PP I hungout with this guy that was Larry's "biggest fan" and Larry gone out of his way to talk to him and I was there and got to say hello.
Another time waiting to get signed into a room where Prince was playing and I though initially another Prince fan was ahead of me in line from the symbol shirt but nope it was Takumi and another roadie getting keys for various band member! As we waited we talked a little and Larry G walked up. It was a trip to see him in head-toe gear that he wore to the gym. He said he would be down to visit fans and he was.
IMO, he is a great guy. One of the greatest bassist ever in funk music. Though I don't identify with him religiously I don't mind. His music is good and he is always friendly to fans, a class act all the way. I'm not sure though if he fits the mold for Prince, I always think that Larry's place is with Sly. I wish they would just get it together and do some music.
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Yes... on more than one occasion. Mr. Graham has always been nice to me.

I briefly met him and his wife twice (after his concert). They were some of the nicest people I've ever met

I wish Larry would tell Prince to make and release a new cd!! I will even take another NewPowerSoul just to have something new to listen to by Prince. I dont play him much nowadays because I am tired of the old stuff. NEED SOMETHING NEW!! C'mon Larry!!

I don't think anyone's denied his talent or that he is 'funk ay'
the P fans seem to just have a problem on his 'influence' on Prince

i like that woman. (not Larry's wife, she doesn't play anything but towels nah.... like her too) yes SIR!

the reality is that Prince has always been the same. It is NOT Larry leading him at all. Listen to all of the people who say the same things not bashing Prince. He still works alone in the studio mainly. Larry is NOT standing over him saying "hey make this music bland and come to church" I never got all the hate for Larry
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't think Prince has always been the same, that's a wide statement
But the jest of what I get from most people that it is Larry G that introduced Prince later in life to JW and that has affect a lot of do & do nots in Prince's music etc etc
I don't think we can say that Larry isn't some kind of guide and mentor 2 Prince when Prince has said that he is...

he IS funky! and, a sweetie too
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
If you don't think Larry is funky you really can't think Prince is cause he copped all of Larry's funky bass style for his own self.

Well Prince does it all Princey n shit so it's better After One In A Million Im done with Larry musically

People on this site have claimed to "hate" him, and say they'll never buy or listen to his music due to his supposed influence on Prince.

I think his solo stuff is mostly garbage, but the '70s Graham Central Station albums are great. My Radio Sure Sounds Good To Me is my favorite.

Hey all of you Purple People, addicted Prince fans so terribly neglected by his musical self-effacement.
It is now official, Larry Graham will release the album RAISE UP on September 25, 2012.
For those of U who dont own the Boot yet, it is legally available as a pre-order on amazon.com. And believe it or not his Royal Highness is participating in RAISE UP, too, sharing his extraordinary talents on a couple of tracks.
Personally, I did not like CST 2000 and I am not keen on Larry's elder stuff. This said RAISE UP is an improvement to me. Some good old Funk, nothing spectacular to go crazy about but solid.
I wish him Good Luck and some good sales no matter what religion he believes in.
Peace.

Then I would think "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" would have made you be done with Prince
