DC fDeluxe and Sheila E. was phenomenal..

Great Venue- packed house- awaesome show.

I saw fDeluxe in LA and I have to say the show was far better- both were technically good, but this was looser and really played with the audience more. They are a really confident band live and really put it out there for the fans. Seems like they have found their groove and would LOVE to see what happens if they get a chance to really go on the road and refine things even more. I dare say they could be one of the tightest bands around if that happened.
Sheila was incredible, a bundle of dynamite. Fantastic backing band, but unlike the band feel of fDeluxe it was a killer band supporting Sheila - and that is a good thing. She plowed through great material (which was mentioned in the NY review) with the energy of a 20 year old. The crowd was on it's feet most of the night and in the end she got a good ten minutes of deafening applause that everytime tried to subside- it came back stronger. Awesome for a middle aged crowd on a work night...wink She brought fDeluxe on the stage and let them sing a bit with her and they all talked about how they were family and how far they went back. I honestly hope they manage to work out a deal for a big tour with each other becasue it will gain it's own momentum and following simply from the musical and entertainment value both bring to the stage.
It's been a long time since i have seen that much talent with the ability to put on that kind of show outside of an arena. Thanks to both of them for that.

This was the most fun I've had at a concert!! After fDeluxe's set (and before Sheila's), I met fDeluxe when they were doing autographs at the merch table. They were the nicest group of people! Later, when Sheila's set was over and I was leaving, Susannah saw me again and she waved goodbye. During the show, Sheila shook my hand (I was in the front row) and she took my Romance 1600 album and signed it (see above)! Also during 'koo koo' she was getting the audience to sing along and she pointed right at me --I pointed back at her and we sang "Koo Koo"! Great memories!! I love the way they treat their fans. It would have been a great show anyway, but interacting with them made it even better.

I was at the DC concert too! If you follow FDeluxe on Facebook, I posted a bunch of pics on there! The show was phenomenal. Although, I think that I like the LA show a little better... *only* because their set was longer in LA. I missed hearing more of their new music but was thrilled that they sung Mutiny which they did not in LA. I was enjoying FDeluxe's show so much that I forget to capture video, but I *did* capture Sheila's last song. Not only was I lucky enough to get an autograph from Sheila but she also gave me one of her sticks!!! Of course, FDeluxe was great, as usual, about giving autographs & the band signed a copy of St. Paul's "Cheat Sheet" (lyrics that he wrote on paper to remind himself). You can view the video of Sheila's closing here on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/wa...zxApojo8J0
