I know I might be part of the minority here, but I'm not interested in hearing Andy Allos album at all... I think she's a weak vocalist and not that talented (kinda boring actually). I'm not being a hater, but the only song that I thought was alright was the song Dreamland with the rapper Blu.

Not really interested, no. Nonetheless I'll check it out, that's for sure. But it's very unlikely that I'll end up buying it. The snippets don't sound too promising to my ears (predictable old school grooves, horn licks heard before etc.).

I doubt most on here know of her prior to her Prince affiliation. As for anything after that point the usual stuff happened. Her FB "likes" doubled due to being in the NPG and being allowed to post songs and videos. Then the 't-shirt heard round the world' kind of made everyone turn on her especially cause of her FB post the next day of "He says he loves me...". I think you'll get a truer response after 'Superconductor' drops of her talent on here. Right now it's all going to be based on snippets and green eyes!

For any orger who actually saw her live with the NPG and didn't read about it on here then I'd value their opinion. The thing about that is most of the "Andy is..." threads are started by people who haven't checked on her. otherwise they wouldn't need a consensus from us about her. As for the collaborations those were well recieved until Prince put on that shirt! Hence the green eyes.

I knew of her before Prince, but as an African model turned singer with some exposure in Europe.

Oddly, I'm not interested in what work she may have done with Prince (as his track record isn't that great with proteges post 90's), I would much prefer to see her material from the original scene she was in and how she can grown that way.

(Bolded part), Actually, Honestman13, I did hear of her before she performed with Prince , and I made a thread about her here on the Org back in August 2010. I first saw her perform on the Africa Channel, and I actually liked some of the songs she sang on that show, and I liked her sound. For me, I try not to base my interest in a musician/artist's music or sound, on someone else's opinion. I'd rather experience it for myself, and be my own judge, because I guess I don't really care if someone else likes/dislikes the same musician/artist as I do, especially since we all have our individual tastes in music, and just because some may not like a particular artist's sound, doesn't mean failure for that artist. So the way I see it, to each their own. That's just about it.

ok, some of y'all get ready for this.....here's a revelation......some of us were not particularly impressed with the acoustic stuff ndy Allo put out with prince, further some of us were not that excited by the W2 snippets showcasing her 'dance/ guitar/ singing 'talents' either.

As I say, I will reserve judgement of Suerconductor until I hear it (rather than give Andy allo a free pass simply because she is within prince's inner circle which is, ironically, what some are doing.

And no I wasn't particulary enamoured by her previous album either. However maybe Superconductor will have me eating my words. I may fall in love with the album - but based on what Have SEEN and HEARD thus far I'm not that interested. Just one opinion - but mine nonetheless.

Well I first heard about andy because I'm a fan of the rapper blu and I heard the song they made together, I think it was a decent song however I didn't think much of her when I heard it either (at the time 2010- I didn't know that she was connected/knew prince). Then I saw her last year when I attended a prince concert and as a musician myself I was left speechless wondering why she was on that stage with prince when she's a horrible singer and guitarist. She didn't add anything to my ears. I

Andy doesn't kick the door out with her storm boots. Her style is light and lyrical,

thoughtful, her voice is pretty and her style is young contemporary. She isn't Chaka

or Rosie, she is Andy.

just like all the other wanches i only find interest cuz of the name prince if he wasnt involved with her i wouldnt give a rats ass. just like wendy and lisa,rosie gaines,jill jones,mavis staples,and do many others wouldnt and dont care unless prince name is invloved with the project

I dont agree, she sounds like many models turned singers - there are plenty of them (they don't get any hype tho cuz they don't know prince lol). Light voices and a quirky personality and that's why people like them and that's it. I'm not comparing her to any other than herself. But thanks for leaving an honest opinion as to why you like her^^

Andy Allo is so uninteresting that people who are not interested in her make time to tell you how uninteresting she is! It's all very interesting, don't ya think?

I heard her sing "Love is a Losing Game" while listening to mplsradio with my headphones on. It caught my attention because she was HORR-I-BULL! Yikes!

I don't even know who she is. I thought all the the threads with her name in the title were about a man that P was hanging out with

I was starting to care about her last month....2 radio interviews, 1 tv interview. The in depth article on drfunkenberry and then....nothing! It is like she paid for 2 weeks of really great promotion and then Prince wouldn't pay anymore.

Anyone remember, drfunk did the radio interview first then Andy followed the next day. I wouldn't be surprised if Drfunk was getting her the press and then decided not to be used for free. Regardless, there was finally some interest in her and it was getting me excited. Now, a month later...and nothing! Someone dropped the ball and if drfunk and his PR ways were behind it, they better get him back on board or else this project is not going to sell jack! How the radio interviews talked about anything other than Prince was a miracle.

Drfunk does do PR right? I know that his real name is credited on several Katy Perry projects from her first Columbia CD and Teenage Dream as well. When everyone just wanted to talk about "I Kissed A Girl" he was brought on and booked her radio and TV interviews where it started focusing more on her music and less on that song. Hmm. He is even mentioned with Cherrytree Records during when Gaga and others were hot.

Heard he is using his real name more because he sued Universal over a band they signed that was using his name as the band name and he owned the trademark to it and won.

But back on topic, like I said, last month, was interested. A month later, no promotion, not interested. Get back whoever she was using because it was obviously someone who knew what they were doing and that is NOT Prince's team!
