What happened to Apollonia between Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge? OK so I just watched Purple Rain for the first time, after seeing Graffiti Bridge for some dozen times, and I was wondering, where did Apollonia go at the end of Purple Rain? She isn't in Graffiti bridge at all (The Kid wakes up with Jill in her bed at the beginning of the film in case anyone forgot), and isn't very clear what ahe said to the Kid after he performed Purple Rain. Did she move back to New Orleans? Did they marry then divorce before the events of Graffiti Bridge? Did she die? What happened?

I always wondered about that, too My guess is that,Apollonia eventually broke up with The Kid,moved to Hollywood to launch a career and never looked back.

Since the PR sequel angle was shoe-horned into GB, continuity was the last thing on P's mind!
You have to insert your own fan fiction here. I'd like to imagine there's a lost spin-off movie, a grand space-opera where Apples and the girls take their flight to Neptune to find fame and fortune and have a wild interstellar rock adventure spanning the galaxy's hottest spots, full of blue and pink neon, smoke machines, jungle red lipstick and white camisoles with T&A busting out everywhere. And she never gave that little twerp from the mid-west who left her in a freezing lake another thought.

I think they had more Noon Rendevzouss & Romance 1600's then Let's Pretend We're married but since Prince likes tragic stories, they don't know if it was nuemonia or strep but somewhere a few years later Prince spent Another Lonely Christmas

He started talking crazy shit like "it's just around the corner" and started seeing angels. She got scared of him, dropped his ass, and ran for the hills. Andy is a four letter word.

No Apollonia No Lisa & Wendy No Billy No First Avenue
GB was no sequel to PR it was its own separate film/storyline. Even The Kid's father dying was poorly written. The Kid writes letters to his dead dad as if he died in his sleep or something; totally ignoring that Francis L tried to kill himself in PR. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

She grew tired of getting slapped everytime she threatened to re-join Morris' group and put a minor dosage of cyanide in the Kid's morning orange juice which caused him to start saying "It's just around the corner" and once she witnessed him writing lyrics in crayons and lipstick on the walls in their apartment which led to a park with a bridge, she decided to bolt for the hills to the west coast in search of a new career. Since we're discussing 'what ifs',here's another question I always wondered about.....
In Purple Rain,Billy made it clear that he only had enough room for three acts to perform at First Avenue.Morris created the sexy girl group,Apollonia 6,hoping that they would replace The Revolution. But at the end of the movie,The Kid and The Revolution make a stunning comeback, thrilling everybody with their new songs. It's clear that Billy has decided to keep the Revolution.
so which group was thrown out? What became of Apollonia 6? At the end of the movie,Apollonia made up with the Kid,so does that mean she abandoned her group? Did she put all her own dreams on hold to be with the man she loves?

Aww Soul, gotta love you honey! Either Apollonia 6 got the boot or Dez did. And since we only saw Dez one time with his band... Apollonia may have made up with the Kid at the end of the movie, but once he started talking about graffiti, bridges, starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam...I'm thinking she left his ass. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yeah,I was thinking that Dez and the Modernaires probably got the boot. But wouldn't it have been strange for Apollonia 6 to be performing there regularly? I mean, wouldn't the Kid have been against this, since it was Morris Days' creation? it just seems that his ego and his pride would have had a problem with this...LOL

And that's the alternate scenario, because you are right, the Kid wouldn't have accepted that. That one day he performed Purple Rain and had Apollonia in tears enough to forgive him could had just been that for that ONE DAY. If she would had continued performing for "Morris' band" then she would have gotten slapped more often. Then she would had been running back and forth...get slapped by the Kid, run to Morris....Morris tries to get her drunk to fuck her, then she runs back to the Kid and forgives him just like in a merry-go-round.
In a way, I think Prince not doing the "continuation" thing may actually had been a genius idea after all. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I think that Francis L later died of his wounds. But you may be right. But keep in mind, the Revolution broke up years before Graffiti Bridge was even thougtht of, and Billy was mentioned in Graffiti Bridge more than once (He left half of Glam Slam to the Kid and Morris each, and Melody says that she was just trying to lay low and respect Billy's dying wishes)
