There were two different maxi singles released for this song. One has the long versions of both Crazay and the B-side Drive Yo Cadillac. The other has remixes and doesn't have the B-side song.

I have some unreleased outtakes of this, including a Sly solo version. It seems that Sly sang the whole song and Jesse pasted in the parts that sounded best to create the duet.

You're right. I have both of those versions. I believe the 12 inch that doesn't contain

Drive Yo Cadillac has a different track and Jesse sings Sly's part. Haven't listened to

the 12 inches in a long time.

I have the Sly solo version too i think its great. Crazay is an awesome song on my fav Jesse album Shockadelica

I remember it too Soul. First thing that came to my mind back then was; "Where in the hell did they dig Sly up to do this?"...I thought that would have led to a real comeback for Sly.

yeah,I also assumed that this song would be the beginning of a Sly Stone comeback in the 80s.Back then,there was talk of a new album but it never materialized.

Sly had a deal with A&M and Jesse Johnson was on board as producer but it never

came to light. Don't know if Sly's drug problems had anything to do with it. After

working with Jesse, he did a song with the Barkays on Animal and EWF on Heritage

and seemed to disappear for 20 years.

^^ such a shame that was Sly's last chance to make a comeback.An album produced by Jesse Johnson might have turned things around for him.

It's funny..I found out a few years ago that Sly was actually living in the town next to me (in 87 or 88). He was living in privacy with someone hiding from the law. My buddy's mom ran into him at one of the flea markets out here and got his autograph. No mob scene or anything...man I was jealous!!

I have eek uh bo static on 45. Hadn't listen to it in years.

Thats the only song i ever heard of jesse. and I had no idead he was associated with prince until a few yrs back
