I wasn't at the MPLS show but I was surprised with the setlist: only Prince songs.

Just like I with that Morris Day And The Time and The Original 7ven would play songs from the members' respecvtive solo careers in addition to the "Time" songs, I would have loved to see a few songs by the Revolution members added to the trackist. each and every member of the band has released at least one solo album in the past: wouldn't you like to ear a couple of songs from these albums on stage?

I think the bigger question is "Will they be able to tour as the "Revolution?" I do agree, if they tour, they should sing some of their own songs too, especially since they had non-Revolution members performing with them at the charity event, and if they will include them should they tour.

I think The Revolution singing their own songs would have taken the air out of the baloon on Sunday. The setlist was perfect, exactly what most wanted to hear. The main consensus before the show seemed to be if we woukd hear many Prince songs. Then, when we heard the DJ in the VIP, the room seemed to exhale. We knew then that there would be plenty of Prince on the setlist. The all Prince list was a pleasant surprise. Most people seemed like they could believe the good fortune.

Even though the Revolution was nice & was for a great cause, the Revolution touring without Prince would not be complete. I saw them in their full glory in 85 a few times. I'll wait for a full Preonce & the Revolution tour before shelling out any money. Though I may be carrying a cane and sporting false teeth before it actually happens.

I think Prince will let them use the name for touring as long as they don't release a record under that name. He never bothered The Time until an album was in the works.

The question of them touring with or without Prince, or with or without additionnal musicians isn't really the point here. Musicians can gather and play together no matter the name and the past history. Touring with a setlist made for one half of Prince songs and another half of their own songs would make more sense as it would precisely justify this reunion without Prince being part of it.

Maybe fdeluxe + The Revolution doing a tour together ?

The setlist on Sunday night was perfect, given the context. If there is a tour, I think it would be cool to work a few of their solo songs into the set.

If they made a new record, they'd have material of their own to play live too.

I can see maybe a couple of W&L tracks working, but the rest of the band don't really have that big a body of work that is recognised to put into a show. Prince's body of work with The Revolution is big enough for a show, so just cherry pick (like they did last Sunday) + the new songs, a la fDeluxe.

Name change, flip the bird to little Ms. sour-face, and it's all good
