the strings and guitar interplay from the 4 minute mark to the end of "Pink Cashmere" is one of the quietly overlooked pinnacles of Prince's catalog.
and what would "Crystal Ball" be without Clare Fischer?

His strings on "Scandalous" was a masterpiece....Very gifted....Prince's slow jams will never b the same without him....R.I.P. CLARE will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

He did some really great arrangements on several projects. Definitely one of the "unsung" heros of popular music. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

why would I shed a tear over a man I've never met ....his strings have taken me to many joyful places!UTCM-The Family-Instrumentals...and ALEXA DE PARIS which is everything to me...This is the romance and nuances of CLARES SOUND!a major ingredient in Princes music too.... I always wanted Prince to do a show with Clares big band/orchestra... his music made me feel like I did know him, thats why I DID shed a tear, ending of an era. [Edited 1/27/12 16:16pm]

This article was posted in the other RIP Clare Fischer thread that will be locked because this sticky already exists.
It gives a great, short overview of his wide and varied career that involved more than just Prince. A nice tribute. http://www.latimes.com/en...1789.story
And thanks BartVanH for the redbullmusicacademy session - really informative!

He will be missed. I only know the pieces that embellished Prince's music but all of them were beautiful and such a huge part of my musical listening journey. Thank you Clare... Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

From the first Cadence of Christopher Tracey's Parade, my eyes opened up to an entire new way of thinking musically. Then I found: Ask Rufus, Destiny and most notably Paprika Plains by Joni and I was spellbound......
This is a mind and spirit that I will miss incredibly.....

Prince's music will never be the same... though Brent is still in the house and obviously living-up to his father's talent.
