I think Dez or Miko might just tip Prince over the edge. Imagine they started touring with either and had Modernaire in the setlist or something.

Mmmh... Maybe a bit out of their league, no?

I mean Jam & Lewis could do a supergroup with them, but incorporating any of those into what used to be The Time... I don't think so...

Ernie brought some nasty guitar to all those

POWERFUL FUNK CLASSICS

the Isley Brothers put out in the 70s..

But Ernie also played on some of the Mr. Biggs era stuff too. razz

hey ! Ernie gets "a pass" for that R.Kelly-influenced "mr biggs" nonsense..!

biggrin

sidebar: I don't know this, so I'm asking: did R.Kelly ever go see Ronald while he was in jail?? has he contacted Ronald since Ron's been out??

woudln't surprise me at all to know that R.kelly completely disappeared after Ronald got locked down..

I'm still looking for a way to contact Ernie - either through a website or a management company..

I think he would nail it as the guitarist for the O7/R6..

I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Jam & Lewis has worked with Ernie before. They did some production on Eternal, which was one of the Mr. Biggs albums.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I read in an article late sometimes last year on Ron Isley and he stated that he

was working on a new album with Kelly on as producer.

After seeing clips of the fDeluxe performances, I'd say just put Jellybean on axe and find another drummer.

I mentioned Micki Free in another thread, but not sure he would fit in with the O7's band image. Micki's style is so different from theirs.

Slash & Kravitz don't really seem to be doing to much right now, atleast I haven't heard of anything. Are they really more high profile than Prince? Besides Prince wouldn't join the group esp now that he refused them the name The Time (lol)

hmmm I could see him rockin' a Zoot Suit and playin' a pimp role lol He has always looked like a Prince protege anyway, which is probably why Prince became close friends with him in the 80s,lol.

Slash has a new album coming soon and that rumored GNR reunion for the RRHOF, and Lenny is on a world tour right now with US dates starting this week.

Could you see either of them wearing baggy suits and doing dance moves? I don't think I've ever seen Slash wearing a suit before.

Oh come on! Lenny Kravitz? Slash? GTFOHWTBS. Kravitz could hire THEM to be HIS backup band; never the other way around. He plays large venues and stadiums. The Time are my boys but damn, that is really stretching realism. Slash? Just as outrageous.

ERNIE ISLEY IS A FUCKING LEGEND! Fall back with that mess. Why would he play with them when he has so much material he has contributed to/written?

Seriously, the only considerations are people LESS successful than The Time because remember, whoever jumped in the spot would have to be satisfied with the fact that they are playing in a project that is the brainchild of another artist. I can't see anyone like Lenny EVER doing that and you can't blame him.

Yeah, but isn't he into his Native American music and culture now? I remember reading that somewhere. He's also acted in some Native American documentaries. I heard that when he was selected to be in the group 'Shalamar', the Prince look was what whomever chose him was looking for.
