I like Jesse & wish him well but in my opinion , it was just down right tacky the way he went about it. Sometimes it's not what you do and say , it's how you do and say things .

It reminded me of how when that r&b group Dru Hill was at a radio station getting ready to announce some tour dates and one of it's member who clearly knew and participated in the group meetings, went live on air and decided he was'nt going to be in the group anymore catching the other members off-guard : THEY WERE PISSED :

Jesse at least owed the other members some respect instead of airing it out on facebook :

Truth is , he might have already been working out a deal with D'angelo behind his group members back.

It's ok if you no longer want to play Prince penned songs , but at least give your band members the mutual respect that they deserve and what makes him look like a sucka is that , they had a conference meeting the day before. His ass should've spoken up then :

Nevertheless, I love his talent and wish him well, but hate how he did it.

So now D'angelo is the blame? I mean I'm sure he knew about the reunion. He is a huge Prince fan.

True! But without Jesse its not the same to me. His segment was the highlight of the show for me. The remarks that people make that he didn't look like he wanted to be there is an insult to his craft. Its not true. Jesse was very excited about this reunion in interviews more so than anyone. Never heard him talk so much in all the 30 years of the group. Whether he grew up with them or not he was there from the beginning of the group and is just as much important as any of them. Obviously they had some major issues on decisions being made that he didn't agree with.

Oh yes it is true. Jesse seemed aloof and paranoid (hint, hint, hint). He was talking to himself. He was holding down those guitar parts like nobody's business, but brotherman was barely in the room with the rest of us. He can't get his sht together so it's best they hire a permanent replacement and record a new album to introduce the newest edition to the band. And kill that Morris Day And The Time side act, because it's DRAINING the demand for the real deal.

I didn't have the opportunity to see them live, but I did think to myself that when they were on Leno Jesse didn't look excited at all. Also, when they were on the red carpet for the Soul Train Awards, he was off into his own world while the rest of the guys were trying to answer the interviewer's questions. I mean he was literally staring off into space! I know he has always had a "too cool for school" demeanor, but I thought it was still a bit off-putting.

All that aside, I am not sure how they are going to replace Jesse. I knew that new name would come back to bite them. Why would a band that hasn't played together in 20 years (except for 2008 Grammys) adopt a name that doesn't make sense unless everyone is in the group?

I wish Jesse the best; he is an amazing and rare talent, but what you put out is what you get back.

I guess now we know why...tour w/ D'Angelo; but does seem strange he'd ok the 07 and then back out.

They just announced Morris Day and the Imitation Time act are playing a show here in Michigan at a local restuaraunt. Its a small place, food is ok but very expensive. I have seem them several times and the show has always been the same so I am not going but thought I would pass it along to those interested. Tix are $72.50. Jan 28th is the date at Andiamos in Warren, Michigan.

Not surprised. The only question was who would disappear first: Jesse or D? Now we know. No matter what he says, O7 can't let him back in the band. That's it. He's not dependable. Be his friend, give him studio work, but don't put his face on the album cover.

Maybe he's not out for the entire tour, just a few shows, until the family emergency is taken care of. Guess we'll see. In any event, if he doesn't rejoin D'Angelo's tour, maybe he'll just go back to the 07. shrug

Seems like there's always at least one member in each group that for whatever reason wants to quit the group , have creative differences , have a drug or alcohol issue, have a big ego , or is such a genius , they don't know how to work with other people....Don't know what the deal is in Jesse's case but it just seem a little weird he's back out of not one but two oppurtunities to do what he loves best :

Whatever it is , it'll come out eventually , I'm sure :

Like I've been saying for several weeks now....

The Original 7ven should just find a new guitarist and move on with their tour plans.Jesse seems to be going through some kind of drama.I think he's confused/frustrated and unsure of what he wants to do and where he wants to be.I hope he figures it all out someday but in the meantime, the Original 7ven need to move forward. They can't wait around for Jesse to act right.

I agree.Jesse is unreliable and he's not really a team player. The guys need to find a guitarist who is truly committed and will stick around for awhile. The guys have no time for games and drama.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

jesse hasn't been the same in the head since he got over competitive with the boys in mazarati, trying to out do them all with his jheri curl.

rumors of a supposed jheri curl face off between jesse and sir casey terry have always been hotly denied by all connected parties.

that as the oldest saying in the book goes is showbusiness.

I guess there is always more than one way to look at things, but all I got out of his comments was posing and hype. Family emergencies? Two different guys are out of his band for the same reason. People don't quit tours due to family emergencies. Joe Perry isn't quitting Aerosmith due to 'family emergency'.
