Thank you very much for posting this. Much love for WGPR. The "Scene" was the shit especially. Nat was Detroit's Don Cornelius. In 82' Prince was huge in Detroit more so then in other urban areas. Thru cats like Nat Morris & MoJo & WGPR. WGPR used to show alot of odd things at night and used to broadcast The "Second Coming" Houston Controversy show late at night. There is a incomplete Vanity 6 show on a Broadcast tape that had no information on where it was held. So that must of been from the "20 Grand" gig. Someone told me the place was "Cherry's" but could never confirm that. It's interesting seeing Andre give an interveiw in 82.

You're very welcome!

That video is from Nat Morris' Youtube Channel. It just popped up in my Suggested Channels List, today.

There's a whole bunch of footage from The Scene, all throughout the '80's. So there's bound to be more Prince related stuff.

Detroit, the 80's, "Prince" and The Scene...go together like...Faygo and Red Pop! wink

And it's...The Scene!!! excited THE SCENE...DAMN IT!!!! faint

No matter what we were nor what we were doing...at 6 o'clock...when Nat Morris said it was time to change "Motown into Geektown". We knew...that meant...it was time to "Throw Down!" :headband:

I am so totally on cloud9 right now, it's ridiculous! The '80's, in Detroit was a time unlike any other...before or since! touched

I've been trying to explain it but I couldn't really because you just had to be there to understand it! shrug

Thankfully, as I've known and been saying for years. I know damn well, a whole lot of it...was documented and will be seen. One way or another! [img:$uid]http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e70/SexyBeautifulOne/2666.gif[/img:$uid]

Detroit's love played a huge part to Prince. In the days where it really mattered to make it or break it. Prince embraced Detroit and Detroit embraced back. WGPR was influential because it probably was one of the very few TV stations that even played his videos before 82. Unfortunately, as I was a little to young for the "Scene" (as a regular viewer). In my early-mid teen time, I got R.J. Watkins and the "New Dance Show". I know... I know...but that show was crazy broke but in a good way. I learned so many weird dance moves and mannerisms from that show. And came with away with incredible amount of knowledge of both House & Techno.

Peace
