It was only available at BestBuy. Check their website and see if they sell it with the DVD.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

There playing that same Soul Train episode of there the been rerunin the past 5 years. Why can't they play their appearance from th very next seaon, or when they were on the season premier for season 19. How about Jesse Johnon's Revue or Morris Day solo performances from Sul Train?

I saw a lot of clips that I'd never seen before during the 1 hour special. I really liked the clips of Morris recording vocals for Condensate. All in all, another well played interview, they said they do intend to play some dates outside America. As fans we just keep winning.

I watched the 1 hour special on BET/Centric and it was one of the worst pieces of garbage I've ever seen on TV. The sources they used for the music videos were from old VHS tapes and the new interviews (for the most part) weren't even mic'd very well. The clips had digital ghosts/artifacts as if they hadn't cleaned it up or digitized them properly. Overall, it looked like something that was put together in 3 days without a researcher, script, etc. There was no linear story, the clips they used were from the wrong era and it was tough to hear for most of it. The best interviews were taken from the current DVD documentary and the best footage was from Soul Train, etc. or footage supplied directly to the network from the current release.

Overall, I was shocked at how badly the project had been put together, and I was really excited about it. The Time have an amazing story (as the DVD shows) but this wasn't the special that they needed.

That doesn't take away from my love of the album... i just hope they find other ways to promote it. I thought they were taking over Centric for the weekend, and not just for a few spots here and there.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I noticed that too, but it's about what you'd expect from a BET throw in channel. They used old vhs for some things, but that is actually an improvement over The Condensate Documentary, which used Youtube clips as sources. Some parts of the interviews, were actually outtakes from the Condensate DVD, not the exact same thing as the Best Buy release, so I thought it was pretty cool that we got to see those segments. My favorite part was probably Morris Day ribbing Jam and Lewis about the clean sound on the Alexander O'Neal Christmas album, versus what they came up with for The Time/O7. cool

The fact that it was another low budget BET production didn't really sour me on the show. I really enjoyed the clips showing Morris recording Trendin and ribbing Jimmy and Terry, lol As usual, Jimmy Jam and Monte had some pretty insightful things to say too...I luv Jimmy!

It was not a real takeower, but like L4OA said, it's more than we would have gotten from more mainstream outlets. sad
