Jesse Johnson Verbal Penetration (artistic statement; some very good and some very weak stuff) Wendy And Lisa White Flags of Winter Chimneys (artistic statment; too moody) Fdeluxe Gaslight (some good funk jams; too many ballads) The Original 7ven Condensate (much too poppy; nice old school jammin') Prince Mplsound (sees Prince not being capable of updating his sound convincingly) Prince Lotusflower (castrated version of TRC; mostly boring songwriting; nice guitar though) Prince 20ten (easy listening; mediocre with no real standout-tracks) Bria Valente Elixer (an album the world doesn't need)

0 for Mplsound, really? What makes it that bad to you.

Disposable is the best word I can think to describe it. Paper plate, plastic spoon use it once throw it away music. I have no desire to ever put this on. To me it sounds like flagrant lazy pandering. Much too cheesy for my tastes. Even worse than his 90's pandering, which I am no fan of either. We all know Prince is so much better than this. I couldn't even imagine any of today's 2nd-rate pop artists thinking the music on Mplsound was anywhere near their minimum standards either.

The only good thing to say about "MPLSound" is: Prince tried to integrate newer sounds.
Problem: He failed on all levels.

Mplsound 6 (Has moments, but too few and far between. Lyrically weak.) 20ten 4 (Poor imitation of his former self) Condensate 8 (yes, pop-ish but a fun record) Lotus 7 (Best of the 3 albums. Good guitar/music, again weak lyrics) Gaslight 6 (Just ok) VP 8 (Too long with too much filler, but the core is great) White flags 6 (OK as well) Elixer 3 (Bad smooth jazz)

I don't get it....the songwriting on Bria's album kicks some ass. Really solid playing, too. Occupy Alphabet Street!

Yeah, I guess solid songwriting and killer playing doesn't get old to me. The groove in 'All This Love' is worth the price of admission alone. Occupy Alphabet Street!

Sounds like all the other smooth jazz tunes out there, sans the sax.
