Rosie sang "best" with Prince. I actually wouldn't consider Mavis Staples as singing WITH Prince! Rosie was the one that toured and recorded with Prince. Mavis's position with Prince was different. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

Oh, and Rosie, just because I don't think Prince got the best out of Mavis that he could. I like a lot of the material on both records, but I don't think they pushed the boat out. Where as Rosie really makes D&P IMO.

Mavis didn't sing WITH Prince as a rule. She was an artist of her own prior to and during.So it's sort of a non question. |

I have to go with Rosie Gaines. They made some truly great songs together. Now as for Mavis Staples, God Is Alive was wicked!!! It should've been on somebody's next CD at that time! When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |
