Just a correction, I went to four of the 3121 concerts and they are not the same as the Musicology tour
Overall, he's been the doing the same ol' shit since 2004!!
and in what way has O7 been different in their live performances? I'm not knocking 'em, they are damn good but what is different? |

the concerts in vegas? hmmm let's see 5 songs from 3121 were played the rest, hits material ...musicology tour ..5 songs during the whole entire tour from musicology were played ..02 arena tour ..5 songs from planet earth were played during a course of 21 concerts ...
what am i missing here?
What is so unusual about that? don't most artist plays some tracks from their new material and a mixture of hits. At least from the concerts I attend (maxwell, erykah badu, janet, sade, etc). The vegas tours had a much different vibe than musicology to me. The styles from the hornz section from mike phillips, greg boyer and lee hogans were different than maceo, candy and well greg boyer. I actually preferred shows from that era. i actually thought you meant he plays the same exact songs over with no new material. I guess you don't want any hits played whatsover...oh well.
From what I gather I don't see what O7 is doing that is so different either. Playing only new song after two or three shows correct? I will hold judgement until their upcoming shows, plus it wouldnt bother me anyway, i still plan on seeing them.

great acts that u mentioned, however we both know prince is in a different category and with much more material. there is only so many times u can hear the same shit and not get bored with it. the musicians u mentioned are excellent and gives a new perpective on things.
the o7 doesn't have that bulk of material so u know what ur gonna get, hopefully as this tour fleshs out they will incorporate more tunes from condensate man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |

Thanks! Now I know what I'll be doing in the summer of 2013.
seeing prince do the same shit he's been doing since the musicology tour? oh wait he can't do raspberry beret without the revolution now otherwise it's NOT raspberry beret ya know?
or as it seems the revolution is getting back 2gether in february so if sir terry casey happens 2 hop up on stage and sing kiss it's now Sir Terry Casey and the revolution right?
i get it T u don't like the new time album and u will stick up 4 prince no matter what, that's cool but damn ur really going out of ur way 2 spit on anyone who is really digging this album more than anything prince has done in several years
Not so. All I was saying was that I consider the line up Morris was touring with for the past decade to be an entirely different band than The Time/Original 7ven. In that they didn't create new material or release CDs. No matter what line-up Prince has had over the years they've released new material. Even the review of the O7 show in Minneapolis makes note of the line up differences. Out of respect for the original line up I stated that they broke up in 1990 and reformed now because that was the group we all grew up listening to. People are telling me the group never broke up because Morris had the touring band. I honestly believe if you ask any member that wasn't in the toruing band if they broke up they'd say "yes". I saw the touring band at Tramps a few times and they're good but it still wasn't "The Time". Dudes saw fit to jump down my throat for stating this. When the truth is that back in July none of us was breaking our necks to go to BB Kings to see the "touring band" because we knew the "originals" we're cooking up something. As for the CD I only dislike 4 tracks. It's an excellent CD. I never said it wasn't. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! |

i will agree that i haven't seen the time since tramps in 96 based only like u say no new material. but little did we know that there was one part of the show called "south side" was a new song even tho it was supposed 2 be on a album called "old dogs new tricks" that never came 2 fruition and even that project was like another version of the time a la ice cream castles. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |

Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and many more acts have a lot of material but pretty much only perform their big hits and popular songs in concert. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton |

I just hope they incorporate more of the new music into the set before hitting NYC. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! |
