So apparently Prince visited Wendy & Lisa recently... Not that I'm necessarily keeping my hopes up high for a new musical collaboration/Revolution reunion, but it's cool to know they're on friendly terms.

Probably just more divide and conquer tactics.

He lifted that quote from their manager's FB post. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I wonder if Wendy pulled his underarm hair. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

if they had any sense they would have told him to get lost! If this was 1989 and we were talking about a reunion then that would be amazing BUT if it happened now it would be awful. W&L can add magic to crap, Prince lite songs. If there was a collab' it would only work if P did the bare bones of a trcak and let W&L lose on them. As Funksterr said, this smells of divide and conquer...or maybe they were just hanging out and being friends!. Lol.

Well at least he can't stop them from using their band name.

Ya know.....if He wouldn't let The Time Or The Family use their names, then WHY IN THE HELL would He be talkin' about a Revolution re-union??? No disrespect 2 Brownmark, but I think I'd rather see a reunion FIRST w/Andre!!!!!

I hope they had fun. They are old friends and as they've said, it was like losing a boyfriend when they broke up. Personally, I think that the Revolution was disbanded at least one album too early, but historically, I can see that he doesn't stay attached to many bandmembers for too long. Lisa had a long run with him as did Bobby. Matt stayed for a few more years but that was a period of cleaning house. He got rid of his band, his fiance, his engineers (Peggy Mac, David Leonard, Susan Rogers, etc.) and started working more at his studio in Minneapolis.
I really hope they had fun, laughing and going over old times. I don't think there is going to be a revolution reunion because Prince just doesn't want to rely on them anymore. I think that either Wendy or Lisa said that in an interview on Prince.org.
If he was serious about playing with them again, it would happen. I kept up hope that they'd be playing for a show or two during his 21 night stay in L.A. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. After watching The Original 7even documentary, which is extremely heartwarming, I think Prince probably saw it and got the warm and fuzzies to walk down memory lane with The Revolution.

Live appearances, meh - been there, done that. But I'd always be interested in what they could cook up in the studio, but in a collaborative way, not just him sending full songs to them to add sprinkles too - let's see some real in-studio work by mature artists that are all bringing something to the table 20+ years later, this isn't the time for paisley spandex pants and backcombing.

He's asking them to do the score for the new Purple Rain sequel. Change it one more time..

More importantly, as stated in the tweet. Wendy and Lisa live in a treehouse.
