Mayte, Mayte, Mayte

I was not a Prince fan during the time Mayte went on tour with him. I became a fan only 3 years ago quite by chance. At that time Prince was taking everything with his likeness and therefore Mayte's likeness off of youtube as fast as it would go up.

Lately however I seem to have access to many videos of Prince singing with Mayte dancing right by his side and I just love her. She is so damn adorable! Everything about her is perfect. I wish good things for her in her future.

So this is a Mayte appreciation thread. I am O.K. with Misty and Andy but I don't think their chemistry with Prince even comes close to Mayte's.

I don't think their chemistry even comes close. because she could of been more "original and spend less money" and right now she could of been famous by now

Yep. and I TRULY wish her the very best! So sad that Fate was so against those 2. It just seems Prince was so in love with her... and the looked so cute together... but it didn't work out... so I just wish Mayte the very best.

Just like wifey #2 got remarried and have a baby on the way... I would love to see the same for Mayte. She deserves it.

Her look was just adorable. She had tiny boobs and this very round rump with those huge eyes. I don't care how he dressed her, she never came off as slutty to me at all. I even liked her "v" shaped bangs that he had her wear ( I am even thinking of trying that myself.lol).

I always thought Prince and Mayte were a great couple. Prince looks really happy when he is with Andy. If they really are dating, I can definitely see the chemistry.

Mayte deserves happiness, I agree, although I disagree that to achieve the level of happiness Mani (allegedly) has, Mayte has to get remarried and have a kid.

I think that I read someplace Tommy Lee and Mayte disagreed on marriage and family. She wanted children and Tommy was not eager to have more. She may no longer care to have children. She will be 38 soon so if she wants to have more then one I hope that she finds someone to share parenting with soon. I don't think she lets fans in on her personal life on fb; so there is no telling on her relationship status at this point.

I have seen pics from her fb page and she is still adorable. Why she is no where near as famous as Jennifer Lopez I am not quite sure. I certainly do not see Jennifer as a greater talent than Mayte but she may be more confident and self assured. JLo still gets more than her fair share of "A" llist men to take an interest in her!

I always liked Mayte, she seemed like a lot of fun, reigned in.

She did basically fill the 'Cat' role - but I think she made it her own, and she was really fun and sexy and a needed counterpoint to Prince's stage persona at the time.

I think I remember reading that same thing, that Mayte wanted marriage and children and Tommy Lee didn't and that disagreement was a factor in their breakup. If Mayte wants to get married and be a mother, I certainly hope she gets that chance. I wish her nothing but happiness; I've messaged with her a couple times via Facebook and she is a genuinely sweet, lovely lady who deserves great things.

Its just it seems like often the ultimate 'wish' given towards a woman in regard to her happiness is that she will "get married and have a baby" instead of simply wishing her happiness and fulfilling life, period. There's an implication that if a woman doesn't get married or doesn't ever have children, then she isn't experiencing the level of complete and utter REAL happiness as a married woman with kids does. As a woman with no kids and unable to have them, I encounter this mentality all the damn time and it's well, kind of insulting.

Mayte outclasses JL in every way, in my book. Maybe JL has achieved greater success than Mayte because JL doesn't seem to mind playing the game and getting down into the dirt more than Mayte does. Seems like the more ruthless you are in showbiz, and the less scruples you have, the further you get (there are exceptions to, of course). But, who knows. And JL might get "A list" men to take an interest in her, but those men seem to have all been pretty scummy and the relationships never last. Hopefully whomever Mayte is or will ever be involved with will be classier and have integrity, and will treat her like a queen, even if he is a 'nobody' who isn't in the public eye.

Comparing the two women is interesting. They both started off as dancers but have sang and acted and appeared on a show as a judge. Both are Puerto Rican with phenomenal booties and pretty faces. Jennifer Lopez is a household name and Mayte Garcia is not. I wonder if Ms Garcia ever wonders "What she got that I ain't got?"

I do not live in LA so I don't know how "down in the dirt" Ms Lopez gets. I do know that she always projects an air of confidence and womanliness. Mayte on the other hand seems coy and girlish. I wonder if much of this has to do with Mr Nelson. I don't think he is the best mentor and may in fact be one of the worst. I say this because he seems to rule with an iron fist, like he and only he, has an aesthetic sense. He is always the "genius" and the women around him are "lucky" and "priveledged" to stand next to his eccentric ass. I just get the feeling the overall message is "you ain't shit next to me; I'm a bleeping LIVING LEGEND! DON'T you dare call me!"

Put a 16 year old girl who already was a stand out next to him at 40 and she is going to feel barely better than the cutest girl working a drive-thru. She had a lot more going for her than the average 16 year old girl. She was adorable, focused on her dancing and ready to go places. He picked out her clothes and her look! That sends the message that she doesn't have a sense of style of her own. NO ONE picked out his clothes when he was 16. He got to learn from his own memorable mistakes. She didn't. I bet any amount of money she was told how "lucky" she was nearly every day and how jealous other women were of her. This sends the message tha t "you ain't anything special", "If your smart you'll be quiet and do what you are told". Mayte lacks the boldness to not be polite. There is a time when politeness needs to go out the window and you need to make it clear that you will be heard.

From what I heard, she eventually did yell and throw things but that was only after living under his rule for a long, long time. If I was Andy's family member I would look at what happens to the confidence level of most of Prince's exgirlfriends.

I think "passive aggressive" behavior is what happens when people feel like they don't have the right to disapprove. It is exhibited when you have a job working for a boss you don't respect but you can't afford to quit the job. Or when you know a person is a complete asshole and you want to call them out on it but unfortunately they know some shit on you that if they aired it all hell would break loose. So you play this game bit by bit, and you sell pieces of yourself off bit by bit. In the end the cost was more than you could afford. You would never have sold out that much of yourself in one large chunk; but bit by bit you sold off more of yourself than you can now afford to buy back.

I would not be suprised if when she left that man she had much healing to do.

It is true that a woman can get happiness in ways other than a husband and kids. I just hope that since Mayte was well on her way to having those people in her life and it was cruelly taken away. Just want to see what was snatched away returned to her.

I know it may not even be what she wants. But if she does, I hope she gets it. smile

eek

I disagree STRONGLY. If anyone comes off passive aggressive... it is/was Mani. Mayte came off as young and naive.... Oh that's right because she WAS young and naive.

Once Mayte matured into the woman she is today... and she started making herself heard... Prince left her for the new young and naive.

and I didn't know Mani came into the relationship "with her own wealth". I thought she came in to the relationship as a college grad (maybe 23) with no job. I just think Mani was a little older and had a chance to be her own person before she got under Prince's rule.

Mayte at 16 went from dad's house to Mr. Man's house. No living on her own.

To me that really makes a difference in mental/spiritual maturity.

Those were some seriously firm thighs. I bet many a man has has quite a few fantasies about those thighs. As for her top? Perky but can't deliver the kind of friction her thighs can. To each their own. Suzannah Melvoin, Vanity, Mayte, and Mani all had tiny tops! (Mayte and Vanity got their boob jobs after leaving Prince).

To me that really makes a difference in mental/spiritual maturity.

I think that happens to a lot of women who have husbands that are more successful or make more money than them. Especially when you have to live in his house under his rules, it makes things complicated for a woman. Mani had her own wealth so she never lost confidence in herself she just left the relationship when she felt put down. I don't really think she thought she needed Prince, emotionally. I wonder if Mani fought harder than Mayte in her relationship? Mayte comes off as passive aggressive.

Huh? confuse

I don't think any of Prince's women are confrontational. All are eternally grateful that such a brilliant and talented man shone his light on them. He is older and wiser then they are so of course his way is the best way, always. Sooner or later we all need the chance to make our own mistakes, decide what our own political and religious beliefs are etc.

I see this Andy Allo as not all that much different from the rest. Impressionable and young, she is eager to please the living legend himself. She is however not 16 so I will not feel badly for her when her time is up.

I love pics of Mayte and hopefully I can get my roommate to help me post some of them. There are also a couple of videos out there I would like to post. She is just too cute and she still has not found the right vehicle yet to truly make a name for herself. She is doing fine though with her acting and dancing.

Her look was just adorable. She had tiny boobs and this very round rump with those huge eyes. I don't care how he dressed her, she never came off as slutty to me at all. I even liked her "v" shaped bangs that he had her wear ( I am even thinking of trying that myself.lol).

Haha.

We may be the only two in the world that dug her bangs. Sometimes they really did look good. Not too many could pull that look off.

And yes absolutely love Mayte. Incredible energy in performances and the chemistry with Prince was undeniable.

There are a couple of photos in the "Come" thread of Mayte (In the PM&Mforum) that show off her bangs beautifully. It was a perfect look for stage IMO, especially given the typoon hair that he was rocking, normal bangs would not be enough. He had all his craziest hairstyles when he was with her. She left him during his "Rave to the Joy Fantastic" look!!!
