i misread u. i thought u were thinking poor prince is going 2 be snookered by this hustler. i also think andy is very ambitious. she raised her own money 2 produce her first album at age 20 which was the same age prince was when he produced his first album. i think he sees some of himself in her. i am impressed with her songwriting. i think she has a punchers chance in a brutal industry.

i think he means well but he also has his ways. i was in awe of what he did 4 tamar davis. in 2006, he went on a mini tour with her & the show was advertised tamar featuring prince. essentially 1 of the greatest live performers in history became the lead guitarist 4 an unknown that he believed in. it was tricky because every1 was coming 2 see him but he humbled himself 2 give her a chance at stardom. although tamar got glowing reviews on the tour, her album was never released & she didnt blow up. but i applaud prince for how hard he tried. i was privileged 2 see the show when it came 2 a small venue in atlanta called the tabernacle.

miles davis, one of prince's huge influences was famous 4 constantly changing bands. when u have a genius musical mind, the nuances of new players opens up ur creativity and that is what prince is all about. obviously, the successes of a band doesn't play into his decision making-if that were the case the revolution would still be 2gether. the secret 2 why prince has been able 2 do 30 albums in 30 years is that new members refresh him. prince isnt about holding any1 back. ida,john & andy have all done solo albums. in a perfect world they would blow up on their own. prince would be delighted 4 them & they could still collaborate from time 2 time.

i think andy's greatest talent is her songwriting , next is her musical vision and then her vocal prowess. she is adequate & improving on the guitar. not everyone can have all of prince's gifts as they are such that may never be duplicated. think about it: he could captivate an audience if all he did was sing, he could captivate an audience sitting at the piano the entire show,he could captivate just playing the guitar only, he could captivate only playing the bass, he could captivate being a bandleader: only singing some of the time,dancing & being a comedic foil. if u could captivate any of those 5 ways,u can have a long career. when u can do all 5 brilliantly,u get 2 be prince. sade is 1 of my favorite artist ever. she isnt close 2 a virtuoso on guitar but i would never tell her not 2 play because she isnt-i applaud her 4 using the guitar 2 express herself sometimes.

at a few shows this summer, with the anxious crowd expecting 2 see prince,he let her open the show with him joining the band at the end of the song or on song #2 or #3. on the 1 hand ur happy 2 do it but on the other hand how would u like 2 be out there when some people had waited a decade or more 2 c prince & ur performance was making them wait a little longer. that is baptism by fire.

with prince,the distractions r part of the deal. u will be 1 frustrated girl or boy if u have no love 4 his band members. prince in concert is like magic johnson or larry bird on the basketball court:they could be virtuoso scorers but they insist on finding creative ways 2 assist their teammates. the resulting synergy wins championships/makes a band tight. in a game/concert u don't know how or who will rock u, just that u will be rocked.

people have been known 2 feel the electricity when prince touches them as sheryl crow has confessed. but in a twist of fate,it was prince who felt the electricity run through his body when ruth & he were dancing close & slow.(ruth was no kim kardashian) prince became undone by the shocking encounter & all he could think about was who is she ,whats her story & when can i see her again. like the poet said "u can't fight passion when passion is hot". he had resolved 2 find her, enter her sugar walls, take her 2 erotic city & contemplate the procreation of purple babies with her. but thats easier said then done in a crowd of 18000.

in the intimate gathering @ the aftershow, u never saw a more relieved man than prince when he saw ruth's face. he composed himself & looked knowingly at her as if 2 say: it will only be a matter of time but u will be with me. ruth laughed 2 herself because she had already been his for years. this was no dalliance-prince had found his purple princess & from that day on he & ruth were never parted.

in case u r worried about &y-let's rewind:

&y was secretly a mj fanatic & she drank but was never intoxicated by the purple kool-aid. while eternally grateful 2 prince 4 his uncommon kindness, she couldnt betray mj's memory & place paisley park over neverland. so &y was deliberately trying 2 find some1 4 prince so he could fall in love & break up with her 1st. my warning her 2 keep prince away from ruth was the reason 4 her to proceed. given the shot of a lifetime on stage with prince, ruth drained it from half court-nothing but net. (with the nba lockout, that may be the last shot in the garden 4 2011). so &y didnt trip up at the garden -what happened she wanted 2. she just needed 2 find 1 2 fit the silver slippers. it was a happy & satisfying conclusion 4 everyone.(esp. the birthday girl-ruth)

p.s. & ruthcass true 2 her word kept her promise 2 pfan1978 & invited him 2 the

purple palace.(its amazing what can happen when we scorpios execute a plan )
