my theory is he found her becuz of the african channel & questlove the bandleader of the roots. andy got a vip pass 2 the april 23rd,2011 prince show at the forum from the african channel, who andy had performed 4 in 2010 & who was brodcasting "prince beyond the symbol". but when he met her, he already knew of her because questlove had raved about her. he also raved about the group"king" who ended up opening 4 prince on his finale show at the la forum. questlove is a prince disciple, a musical historian,a talent scout & musical director of the jimmy fallon show which shoots in new york. while prince was in ny 4 the first leg of welcome 2 america, he saw questlove numerous times at shows & aftershows & questlove probably mentioned her when prince told him he was heading 2 california. andy & questlove have a mutual acquaintance, cali rapper blu who worked on both andy's debut album & the roots 2010 "how i got over" album. questloves influential hip hop website "okayplayer" featured andy's video"dreamland" featuring blu in sep 2010 & andy's remix of kanye west's"lost" in the world" in jan 2011. prince & andy clicked on april 23rd backstage & he invited her back 4 the next show on april 28th. he had her play at both troubadour shows on may 11th & after escorting misty copeland 2 the abt(ballet) gala on may 16th in ny he picked back up with andy in la & had her perform in the 3rd house of the blues show on may 26th. with the us leg of his tour finished on may 29th, prince convinced andy it was a wise move to join his band. a month later she was with the npg at the montreal jazz festival. just a theory mixed with a lot of facts. | |

with prince i think if u show him love he will return it. mya use to show him mad love in interviews calling prince her musical hero & when prince did his 21 nights in london,she opened 4 him 2 nights. in september 2010 when sweet enchantments interviewed andy allo & asked her who would she like 2 perform with 1 day & why, she mentioned lady gaga then said id love 2 perform with prince because he was prince. well she asked 4 it & she got it. its almost like a fairy tale with cinderella & prince charming. i am glad my ramblings was somewhat useful 2u. | |

i think u r well on your way. andy was very 4tunate 2 be dealing with prince. because his show is different everytime, he is use 2 semi chaos. so incorporating andy & her music into his set was just more semi chaos. if he was performing the same show each time,it would be2 upsetting 2 bring some1 on in the middle of touring. | |

introduction:in past interviews it is clear andy allo's favorite 5 albums r 1)nina simone's greatest hits 2)dangelo's brown sugar 3)michael jackson's off the wall 4)lauryn hill's the miseducation of lauryn hill 5) george michael's faith. analyzing her 5 favorites makes it clear 2 me that if there is 1 person on this planet she should be working with, its prince. 1)nina simone was a jazz legend. from prince being named after his fathers jazz band, the prince rogers trio, to his love 4 miles davis, to his jazz albums under the name madhouse,the jazzy ballads like somewhere here on earth,damn u. the jazz fusion included in the rainbow children & lotusflow3r-prince is about jazz. nina simone covered prince's single "sign of the times". finally, when andy mesmerized the stade de france crowd in paris as if she were marilyn monroe the "look of love" version that she sang wasnt the gorgeous poppy dusty springfield version but the raw jazzy nina simone version. nina simone-check. 2)mention dangelo & the 1st or 2nd name u think about is prince. "lady" from brown sugar is 1 of my favorite prince(i mean dangelo) songs. his #1 smash "untitled" from his voodoo album was a prince tribute. Allegedly, prince has done some work for dangelos 4thcoming 3rd album "james river"(9 years in the making). dangelo has covered prince's "shes always in my hair" & has said prince's "movie star" is one of his all time faves . listen carefully at" muse 2 the pharoah" from the rainbow children & "dear mr. man/if u want me 2 stay" performed by prince at the north sea jazz festival this year. it is like prince channeling dangelo & sly stone(sly wrote "if u want me 2 stay"). but considering that dangelo channels prince,sly,marvin gaye & al green - lets just say it seemed like an incestuous & mastabatory exercise. dangelo-check. 3)micheal jackson or prince? 4ever the question will be pondered but never settled.(i have my definitive bias but i digress) when andy started singing "dont stop till u get enough" with shelbey j in the latter part of welcome 2 europe, her voice timbre was eerily like michael's. the song from off the wall was interpolated with prince/the time's "cool" so prince see's the compatibility of the prince sound & jackson. mj must have seen the compatibility as he wanted his single "bad" to be a duet with prince. still not convinced? what happened when minneapolis sound practitioners & the time members, jimmy jam & terry lewis, started producing lil sis janet jackson?admit it the prince sound & jackson was a marriage of platinum felicity. michael jackson-check. 4)lauryn hill, andy's idol, enlisted legendary guitar player carlos santana(princes idol) on the miseducation album & produced a song on carlos's supernatural album the following year(both albums won grammys 4 album of the year). why cant andy enlist legendary guitar player prince on her album like lauryn did carlos( & if she wins an album grammy,she should produce prince the following year (-: lauryn hill also collaborated with dangelo on that album with the hot duet "nothing even matters".(see 2)dangelo) when andy did people pleaser with the npg at the grande journal tv show in paris she had the soul of lauryn,the cadence of mary j & the spirit of chaka lauryn hill-check. 5)when george michael dropped faith in october 87, it was common knowledge that he had executed the purple rain formula 2 perfection. the album title faith suggested the sacred like purple rain,but some of the music was profane.(i want ur sex in 87 kept censors just as busy as darling nikki had in 85). "i want your sex" & "monkey" was stripped down funk like "when doves cry" & "baby im a star". the single "faith" was a #1 rocker just like "lets go crazy"."father figure" the pop/alternative groove like "i would die 4u". one more try & kissing a fool the exquisite ballads like purple rain & the beautiful ones. "last request(i want ur sex part 2)" was subversively wicked & brilliant like "darling nikki". some say george micheal out-princed prince all the way to the grammy podium to pick up album of the year. george michael-check. conclusion:in an interview earlier this year i heard andy say that she didnt have a musical mentor but that she was looking 4 1 she could vibe with & that she would be patient waiting 4 the right one. well cinderella, i think ur prince has come andy & prince-check mate. here is a quickie,but just about prince. i heard u r dying 2 see him perform on another thread. a long time ago around the time after the symbol album-the tour may have been called act 1,prince came 2 a downtown atlanta venue called the fox theatre. the show having sold out, we went to the box office a few hours b4 the show hoping 2 just get in the door with standing room onlys. luckily we were able to get them & was prepared to be binocular distance from the stage. about 30 minutes b4 showtime we found out tickets had been freed up & the upgrades were nominal so we jumped at the chance 2 have an actual seat. not understanding the buzzword 4 the section we were 2 be going, we were amazed when the usher carried us all the way 2 stage left. i could literally stick my toe out & touch the steps to the stage. it was the night of our lives & with princes piano being stage left,we had the privilege of being 20 ft away from then mayte garcia all night because her main position was stage left near the piano. the moral of the story is 4u 2 keep hope alive. we didnt even have tickets & we ended up on the front row. we were last but we ended up first. i can feel that if u keep the faith ur prince 2 will come. p.s. next time whats a college student 2 do if they have final exams 2morrow & hadnt studied but prince is 30 mins away ,he's ur idol & uve never seen him perform live b4. what would u do? he seem to love worcester because he has been their 8x playing "the centrum" multiple times in 85 & 88, the aud( twice in 93) & the palladium (in 00). he has been 2 boston 4x playing the metro(81), the orpheum(82), the roxy(97) & the fleet center(97). considering they only played new york, the carolinas & california stateside, i think he is due 2 tour the states proper. besides elisa fiorillo dease, 1 of his 3 singers who didnt go to europe with them has said she was looking forward 2 rejoining them when they came back stateside. lets hope its true. i think prince wants to show off 2 america his pride & joy,andy allo. | |

might it be that i,pfan1978 could be mentioned in the same breath as harry frazee? frazee was the poor chap who traded babe ruth from your boston red sox 2 those damn yankees ushering in the 80+years world series championship drought(the bambino curse) might my fateful decision in february,1983 have ushered in the greenville curse? heres my story: it was 6pm on feb 22nd 1983-prince,the time & vanity 6 were primed 2 rock the greenville colisseum in upstate south carolina @8p. the venue was an easy 30 minutes away from my university dorm but i had 2 major exams the next morning & i was unprepared 2 take them. as much as i loved prince, being a reasonable 19 year old, i made the mature decision that was right 4 my education. was prince somehow clairvoyant & aware that i put my education b4 him? did i jinx greenville because 4 28 years after that fateful night, prince never came back. in the 4 years b4 that night, he had played greenville 3x-now nada. desperate 2 see him, i traveled 2 charlotte, north carolina in 1988. there prince poured salt into my wounds when he addressed the crowd as carolina. it was like we were back in the late 1600s-no north carolina, no south carolina just carolina. it was his awareness that we from the southside had no choice but 2 come 2 the northside if we wanted 2 see him because he wasn't coming 2 the southside. might i carry the weight of my decision 2 my grave like harry frazee must have? well all is well that ends well. the red sox had their miracle post season of 2004 beating those damn yankees sadistically & then winning the world series. the bambino curse was no more. 1 sweet day in march 2011,the happy words were reported that prince would be playing 3 south carolina & 3 north carolina venues over a 2 week period later that month. south & north carolina had their identities back & hallelujah, after a 28 year absence, prince was playing greenville. the greenville curse had been lifted. the end

i think the real reason is he got so big after purple rain that the greenville colisseum wasnt big enough 2 hold him. but i had 2 string u along & make u think that i didnt go 2 the show when i really did. vanity 6 was cool,the time were a revelation & prince was prince. as a compromise 2 my studies i left during the middle of the last song 1999 to beat traffic back 2 school. next week i will tell u about the night after a prince show in atlanta when the sky really looked like the armageddon prince was talking about in the song 1999. stay cool | |

prince surely loves the fabulous fox theatre in atlanta. 9 of his 27 performances in atlanta has been there. a signature of the fox theatre,which replicates an arabian courtyard, is the ceiling. it has 96 embedded crystal stars(32 which flicker) & a projection of clouds that slowly drift across the sky. it appears like u r gazing at stars outside. now if u combine this with purple lighting, it is the perfect environment 2 hear the song 1999. the fox being an intimate venue holding about 5000 & with orchestra acoustics & the a4mentioned night sky look creates an ambiance that makes an audience appreciate more viscerally the apocalyptic words "the sky was all purple there were people running everywhere". a deeper connection with that aspect consequently allows the audience 2 be more invested in prince's remedy 4 facing impending doom-2 party like this will be the last time. when prince was playing 1999 around 1045p at the fox theatre on march 12th,1993 i didnt know he was prescient. but when i stepped outside of the venue around 11p, i looked up 2 the sky 2 see the weirdest colors i had ever seen in my life. no hallucinatory giddiness from seeing prince could account 4 what i saw-i was genuinely scared. what i saw that night was a warning sign. google "the storm of the century" & click the first link u see. i had stepped outside 2 what would within hours become "the blizzard of 1993" aka the storm of the century. the moral of this story: if prince implores u 2 party like its 1999, u better heed-it just might be.
p.s. prince embraced being trapped in atlanta as it was reported he performed a show 4 the lucky crew at the atlanta hotel where he was staying b4 finally getting 2 fairfax,va 4 a march 15th show

i recall that interview as well. prince is a gemini - on the 1 hand he wants to make cinderella's dreams come true but at the same time he gets bored easily & has done a lot of hustling as well. back around 1986, u could link him 2 10 famous women @ the same time. the "one" suggests that his hustling days were over-" if ure looking 4 a brother that will have 10 woman & confuse it all with his wealth-i aint the 1" but then he was married 2 mayte when he wrote that so don't know if it is still apropo. perhaps he has not reverted 2 his hustling days with his religious devotion. but having been the king of the hustlers @ 1 time, i think he knows what a hustle looks like.i dont think andy is a wolf in sheeps clothes but if she is? can a wolf pull the sheep's clothing trick on another wolf(or former wolf)?
