Levi Seacer, Jr. - Better bassist or guitar-player? Levi Seacer. Jr. first played bass in Princes band, later guitar. I don´t know any other musician who "changed" instruments in a band (ok, there are many "muli-instrumentalists") the way he did. I´m wondering in which role you liked him better? His bass-playing on the Lovesexy-live-video kicks ass, but his guitar-playing, especially on "Willing And Able" is amazing, too. What do you think? See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

I love his guitar playing, the solo in Sexy MF is brillaint. But I reckoned he was a bit 'one-styled'.
Anyone know what he's doing now? L I'm just, I'm just Levi from the org

Great at both. But that said, that Sexy MF solo is one of my alltime faves. I'd love to hear an album full of that! I suspect it's him, too, on the peach 12", with the jazzy intro.

I think he plays both very well, i like his guitar play and
his bass play! The guitarsolo on Get your house in order from warehouse 8.9.93 is very great! It`s very george benson like!

I thought his guitar playing was just okay, which was exactly what he got paid to be (leave miko to that)
but his bass playing was fantastic and cool. I think he was Prince's coolest bassist by far

i prefer his bass playing. check out the live version of R.A.V.E. from the Small Club Gig. if i'm not mistaken, it's Prince and Levi both playing doing a solo and playing what sounds like the EXACT thing! listen carefully - it hurts. also check out the SOTT video.
even his costume wasn't that funky. even Sonny T's hat wasn't that funky.

Equally good at both. These instruments are too similar to judge, most guitarists can play Bass & most Bassists can play guitar
