My favorite song from Sheila's Sex Cymbal album.This is actually a remake of a 1973 song by Azteca,the band that Sheila and her father were a part of.She simply changed some lyrics and came up with a great tune.

I love this song! One of my favorite Sheila songs. I had no idea it was a remake. The Sex Cymbal credits just list Sheila, Peter Michael, and Pete Escovedo as the creators. Thanks for the info. I also found this clip on YouTube, with Pete explaining some of its creation:

I guess it could be considered a "partial remake"? Sheila uses the chorus from the original 1973 song,but she wrote new verses.

I love how this song pairs with Private Party as well. Both those songs were my jams back when Sex Cymbal came out.

Pete Escovedo did the first remake on his 1988 "Mr E" album and then Sheila did hers on Sex Cymbal. She can be seen performing the song in the "Adventures of Ford Fairlane" movie.

It's been a while since I've watched it, but I think the version of What'cha Gonna Do that Sheila does in Ford Fairlane is mixed differently. I remember I wanted to hear that version too. Maybe if the song had been released as a single...
