WHERE DO THEY GET THEIR PRICES FROM? At the same mail order company( which I won't name) they want £64.99 for Vanity 6 CD BUT ONLY £15.99 for The Time and Sheila E CD's. I know that Jill's debut album is scarce on Cd, but £115 - purlease! I really wanted to get it on CD as well but there's no way I am going to pay that price.

What are your thoughts, ORGERS?

Yes its very much in demand as only a limited number of copies were produced in CD form and its one of the best associated artist albums.

I paid £50 for it about 4 years ago so good to see its value has increased although I wouldn't sell it!!

Try Taja Sevelle - great album too and don't think its too expensive.

The Time & Sheila E. had their CDs re-released about 2 years ago that's probably why they're not as expensive. Other protege acts are very hard to find on CD. If you really want it then get it. You only live once.

Ah, its not so expensive in LP form and ripping from an LP will have scratches n hiss...the CD is worth more because it was the original PP CD release.

Unless you're able to get hold of a factory-sealed or mint or un-played vinyl copy.

Then, with a high defenition record player and needle you can get quite a good sounding recording.

And the analog sound will be a different as well, usually with more warmth in there.

Pops and hisses can be reduced as well, if one prefers copying from vinyl:

I think that's a lot of $$ but I'm not a fan.

Other than Pandemonium, The Time's albums have never been out of print. Morris' Color Of Success has always been in print too, but Daydreaming and Guaranteed haven't.

^ Right. The Time and Sheila E. albums are cheap because they're in print, or recently were.

Jill and Vanity 6 are LONG out of print.

I found Jill Jones on CD in a 2nd hand store, mint for £7 and bought Vanity 6 CD for £5 from a mail order store in about 1995. Suckers didn't know what they had! Tee-hee!

The Beatles Yesterday and Today with the "butcher babies" cover is expensive. Whoever buys it is only buying the photo. The songs can be found elsewhere on regular Beatles albums. The picture itself (and others from the photo session) can be found in several books for way less than buying the album.
