Best Larry Graham album to start with... With all personal opinions on his influence on Princes personal life, Larry seems to be a solid bassist.
I'm very familiar with his work with Sly, but can any fans please point me the direction of the best GCS album to check out.

Start with the 1st one GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION (1973-4)? Very funky. RELEASE YOURSELF - Gospel funk NOW DO YOU WANT TO DANCE? - A little disco-ish at time but still slammin. MY RADIO SURE SOUNDS GOOD TO ME - Hiitin'.

Although I like it for the most part, it is way too "Prince" with the recycled music. I do like the updated version of "We've Been Waiting" ("Intro"). "Groove On" is my favorite track. "Love Hurts. Yep. The original GCS albums from 1973-1978 are essential funk albums. Anything after that is really rather pathetic IMO. Release Yourself (1974) is probably the quintessential one IMO. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com
