There are all sorts of fans on this forum, with all sorts of opinions, as you've probably noticed. A few people like to post negative things just to irritate everyone else (not saying the person you're replying to necessarily falls into this category). What's so great about the .org is that each of us is free to express his or her opinion without any censorship as long as the forum rules are followed.

At any rate, some of us do appreciate very much the information you've provided.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many (most?) people here have never met Prince or any of his close associates or the musicians he works with. I can see how, if you actually knew these people, some things we say might be offensive even if they aren't intended that way. People often make comments about celebrities that they would never make about their own family or friends. If I started a thread about how X is my favorite musician, someone would sooner or later reply that X is the worst musician ever, even though they would never say that if they actually met X in person.

I sure do. That's why I said "many" and put a question mark after "most," because I don't know for sure how many people have met Prince or someone from his inner circle and how many have not. I, personally, haven't met Prince or anyone remotely connected to him. I would wager that some of the .org members who seem to think Prince is singing directly to them when he talks about wanting to be their lover have also never met him. I would also wager that some of the people who criticize Prince or his associates most loudly and vociferously here also have never met any of them. But we'll never know for sure because it's an anonymous community for the most part.

I can't imagine Prince was ever very intimate with some of these people he so wantonly brushes aside. I could not really relate to being shady with my friends like that.

In fact, I'm kind of surprised some of the former bandmembers even play together anymore. The whole situation would put an ill taste in my mouth, I would think.

But kudos to Alan Leeds. I've always admired your stories. <3
