I would have said that if I hadn't heard the original version of the song which rocks!

omg

There's an original P-version? Where?

Uhhh...somehow I heard it. It might have a female singing lead. Gayle Chapman, I think. Anyone else? Help me here.

I have a certain fondness for it, but Next Time Wipe the Lipstick Off Your Collar is pretty bad. I think it's kind of a poor attempt to re-create a vibe like You Don't Bring Me Flowers. Doesn't quite work. Even if it were done by a really good singer, I think it would be cheesy.

The cheesy thing is what's cool about it for me. It is silly and over the top, and has great musicality and DRAMA. Somehow it is a good bookend for Oliver's House.

The original meaning the one from The Rebels session. That is sung by Gayle.

But the one Prince gave to Paula is the version from 1987, which is also cool.

I'm amazed no one has mentioned "You're My Love" as sung by Kenny Rogers... lol

So horribly generic and flat. It's amazing that 80's Prince wrote it, surprising that he was proud of it enough to offer it to someone and downright shocking that KR thought it even worth recording.

^^Just listened for the first time and I liked it. I could hear it slowed down and made perfect by Ms. Anita Baker.

I agree with 'You're my love' and would add 'With this tear'.

R u 4 Real? This is a great track, funky, funny and Morris and Prince trade some great lines. "Maurice introduce us to the lovely lady", "I am about to introduce u 2 my fist". Good sing a long chorus and funny patter make this a better hit.

Jaguar by Mavis Staples is way below her calibre, and I just don't like Yo Mister by Patti Labelle (Yet I love New attitude???)

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

You're thinking about "The Walk" which I love. But that's the first track of side B. I'm talkin' bout the first track of side A. razz

"Wiiiild and loose, that's how it's gonna be

Cuz that's the only type [something something] that appeals to me"

Omg its terrible.

I've always felt Girl by the Time is a bit of an embarrassment to both the Time and Prince

LOL. It's "Skip 2 My U"... Though I think a song about skipping to a loo with your darling might be more George Michael's style.

Anything by Jevetta Steele or Elisa Fiorello is unlistenable along with Robin Power and Dale Bozzio. The Carmen Electra Album was beyond wretchable and then don't get me started with TC Ellis and Ingrid Chavez. He REALLY spread his talents thin in the 1989 -1992 era.

Elisa Fiorello "Ooh This I Need" is cool.

Wild and Loose was partially written by Dez and then rewritten by Prince. My worst song for someone else would be... Number 1 (for Robin Power). It is just annoying.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Yeah, there were some real stinkers coming out in the early 90s, he was on auto-pilot I think, they'd want his name on their record, he'd want a royalty cheque.

That Dale Bozzio song that was released last year on iTunes was a load shit, sounded like a Carmen Electra off-cut.

Just bought that shite, what a waste of a dollar....

Also just realized Sheila's "Leader Of The Band" no longer available online...

this day is sucking!

And oh yeah, Love Prince, Love George Clinton, HATE Big Pump.

Definately among the worst ever... To me, even worse than the Bozzio crap, cuz I don't expect Dale to be any good, but Prince & GC, that should be some We Can Funk/Soul Psychodelacide level shit!

Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

Bingo!! This gets my vote! Completely embarassing, and I can't believe that shit made it to the final cut of the movie!

Did Prince write Number 1? THat worthless Robin Powers could have made When Doves Cry an awful song.
