There is also a performance clip where she does "The Glamorous Life" with Mint Condition as the backing band.

I loved it, she was playful almost a bit naughty, she was sexy and I loved her response for the Erotic City question.
I loved the rendition of GM but that ending is a bit tiresome

Nash simply asked something like "Now you did the song Erotic City with Prince" and she explained how it came about that she sang co-leed with Prince.
She wasn't prudish about talking about it at all

Interview was a bit longer on TV. And I kinda agree about The Glamorous Life -- I know its her signature song but I wouldn't mind hearing a slightly different take on it.

I like the version she per4rmed with Prince in 2005 @ the NAACP Awards. The arrangement was very musical. I think Prince knows how 2 take 2 another level since he created it... Everytime she per4rms "Love bizzare" or "Glamorous Life" I always think of them as Prince songs & creations. But they do fit her perfectly especially GL........ will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! I've always loved Sheila, she's so classy but real at the same time. I loved how she indirectly hinted about her and Prince's round and round relationship with one another, but that the bottom line is that they have remained friends. Her hair was on strictly on point!!! I want her hair stylist's number immediately ...as well as her personal trainer. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I DVRs the WBW marathon and finally saw the Sheila E episode! Yay!
I have to say, Niecy needs to do her homework.
First, why did she introduce Sheila as "the flyest thing on a KEYBOARD?" Only time we've seen Sheila on keys was all the way in the back at the Family Jamm..... (and who knows that anyway?)
Then she's like "What was it like meeting Prince so early in your career"? OK Sheila schooled her on her background, but hello..... it's called RESEARCH YOUR GUESTS??!! Then again, she said to Mint Condition at the start.... "Ain't you from Milwaukee?" And she was SERIOUS! C'mon now!
More importantly, the interview was great thanks to Sheila. She kept it real and talked about Eleveate Hope and answered all of the questions, and then tore it up in the performance.

Is there any way to see/read the full interview? I would like to know what Sheila said about erotic city. "Aren't you even curious? Don't you want to see the dragon behind the door?"

I couldn't find any so I DVRd all of them! Basically from what I remember.... Niecy---not exactly interviewr extraordinaire---was like "So you sang on Erotic City!"
Sheila said "yes" and kinda laughed a little like maybe she was a bit surprised she asked (this was very subtle) but then was like "let me tell you the story about that"
And she basically explained how she had been singing backup while doing percusison for people like Marvin Gaye, George Duke etc. but she doesn't consider herself a "singer singer". (She was extremely humble about this and also saying she's not really an "actor" either....you had to see it but she just came across really cool, and real...like she doesn't think she is "all that" etc.).
Anyway Prince asked her to come to the studio one day (pre GLam life) and she said sure, what should I bring? Timbales, percussion etc. and Prince said "no don't bring anything I'll have it all set it up". THen she gets to the studio and she is like "where are the drums? where are the percussion instruments" and Prince said no I just want you to sing. And Sheila was like "Sing?? I don't sing" etc. and basically Prince convinced her to do it with him together and that's how she ended up doing the record. It was a cute story actually.
Niecy also asked about her foundation and Sheila talked about Eleveate Hope and very matter of factly brought up that she herself had been raped, and was explaining how music helped her heal etc. and that is what Eleveate Hope is doing and she started to get choked up for a second---like maybe half a second even---but kept right on going.
I have to say, it was one of the best interviews Sheila has done. She came across really cool, answered questions, and just kept it very real the whole time, despite Niecy sometimes actin' the fool I wish they'd post the whole thing so we could see it online.
The Glam Life perofmrance was interesting. I didn't realize that was Mint COndition as the house band. They don't sound very good IMO at least thru the TV (then again I missed them opening at MSG in DeC and showed up during Janelle Monae's set).
Anyway, it looked like Sheila was up there with her glitter timbales and Bobby G her longtime guitarist was there too, doing the intro on his guitar. Sheila killed it of course (when does she not?? ) but the band seemed to struggle to keep up with her. But in the end it didn' tmatter it was great!
