The Time Harvey La January 15, 2011 concert review I went and saw the Time at the Boom Town Casino in Biloxi, Ms on January 15, 2011. This was my first and second show this year and my 59th and 60th overall.
Day three of the road trip from hell had us waking in New Orleans. I didn't sleep worth a shit due to people constantly running up and down the hall and slamming doors. That freight train that got parked in my room didn't help either. We crawled out of bed too late for breakfast, but decided to check out the Copeland's attached to the hotel around lunch time. Some of the fellas were in there, so we caught up with them and had a bite to eat. We got invited to sound check. Very Cool to hear the band run through some of the numbers for the show with a little James Brown thrown in. I thought it would be funny if they played Ace of spades. Jason went and told Tori who got a good laugh out of it and flashed the Devil horns at us from the stage. We went back to the hotel, ate again and got ready for the show.
We crammed into the van and road to the show. Some old lady wanted to touch me like I was in the band . Atleast nobody wanted autographs this time. Hung out backstage until show time. There was no side of the stage at this venue. The show was also over sold. Both shows sold out. We had a trio of chairs at the very end of the first section of the floor, about the middle of the showroom.
Well on to the show

The show was right on an hour long and as always the guys put on a killer show. The crowd was really into it and that's always good to see. Skillet is always a rockin' start to the show, but the crowd really go into it for COOL complete with the hand gestures. The crowd stayed on their feet for Get it up and continued rocking with a double shot of Pandemonium. Morris asked that question and we all knew it was time to get Wild and Loose as we worked the Stick. The highlight as it often is was 777-9311. We keeps listening for the Motorhead during the solo, but it didn't happen Morris kept it short on Kid, talkin' shit, but not bringing the ladies up on stage. The Bird closed the normal portion of the show. Tricky started the encore and I'm so happy they added this to the show. Too Funky. The show closed with Jungle Love. Great show. The only thing I didn't like was the jack ass with the whistle. Somebody needed to kick his ass. We went back stage on the last strains of Jungle Love and hung out between shows.
Tori asked me how many shows I had been to and when I said the next one was sixty Morris said they should have gotten me a cake. Nice. For the second show we watched from right outside the exit door to backstage. Much closer to the stage. It was pretty much the same show with a few minor changes. The band really brought it on 777-9311. The bass was thumping, Bean was laying down the beat, the keys were awesome and Tori changed it up on the solo. I was backstage on a beer run when Morris was back there singing the one verse of Sometimes I get lonely. They played the full version of If the Kid can't make you come with the girls coming up on stage. My man Arlington was put on the payroll for the night partially subbing for Jaybe by picking the girls for Kid and everybody else for the Bird. I ran up on stage for the Bird and got right next to Morris for the "White Folks" line. Did my dorky white boy dance, then the normal Bird for the next line and then ran back off stage. Jason was suppose to get this on video, but somehow he Fucked it up. When the show was over, we went backstage again and hung out. Jason got this awesome poster signed by all the members of the band. We went back to the hotel. We got invited to go back out with some of the fellas after the show, but I had had enuff. I already hit my limited on drinking and anymore I would have been sick the next day. That and I was just wore the fuck out. Jason and I said good night to the fellas and headed back to the room.
We checked out the next morning and headed home. We got to Jason's around 2 p.m. or so. I crashed on his couch and had nightmares of barking dogs and talking hippy sloths. Had dinner in the evening, watched a bad Zombie movie and finally headed home that evening. Well that concluded the 1083 mile 3 day road trip from hell. We had a blast. One of the best weekends of my life!!!
