Morris Day and the Time Concert at SF Yoshi's For those of you who were asking about when Morris Day and the Time were going to tour on another thread, I wanted to let you know they are performing at Yoshi's in San Francisco on Dec. 27 and 28. I know it is short notice, if you don't already know, but I just found out about it myself. In case you can make it, seats are still available! ...Saw the 10pm show last night and it was great. It was basically the same show I've seen several times. Their set is a workout!
...Incredible dancers from audience added to stage for If The Kid Can't Make U...
Morris still sells it like it's fresh to him.
Jerome wasn't with the group
Overall - it was still lots of fun - and the band sounded good. Jellybean works hard! I did wish the house mix had the guitar up higher, and for that matter - Monte's keys.
The steps were tight - which is always good to see.

Yehhsss! Just got back from seeing the 10 p.m. show tonight and it was much as you described it. Morris has lost some weight, which made him look good in those suits. The band had a nice energy to them and sounded tight. It was hilarious when Morris came out for the second half--after discarding the shades--and started his little speech about "I'm not sweating...I'm condensating like a fine wine that has just been chilled--I'm still cool!" LOL Although I was disappointed that Jerome and some other original band members weren't there, the show was great and a lot of fun. Morris, at the end, put down some of his slick signature dance moves and drove the ladies wild! Seemed like he was having fun. The lady who was asked to dance with Morris on stage was a riot... Older with a little beer gut and not much booty and he told her she had a mustache! Whoa! But then when he asked her to dance, she got down...shook the booty and won his respect! That was fun! He played some recent music I wasn't familiar with but also the crowd favs--including the encore "Jungle Love." Really enjoyed it and glad I didn't miss it!
