I just read on the net that singer Teena Marie died today.I did not say what she died of.

I just heard

Whatever it was that took her life, I hope she didn't suffer. She seemed to be a very caring and nice lady.

I wish the family and all those loved ones "Lady T" left behind all the best during this sad time.

Last nite or today.. she was found today by her daughter, who turned 19 just yesterday (on Christmas)

it was reported that Teena Marie had had a seizure last month... may be a while before cause is known

I am so glad that I had the incredible fortune to speak with Teena Marie in June of 2009. It was a great experience to interview one of the great artists of our time. She was a true musical innovator and she was a lady with a gentle, compassionate spirit. While I know heaven is welcoming her, I already miss the presence of her spirit, energy, and light in the world.

Teena Marie.....you are loved, and always will be. Thank you for bringing your soul, funk, and spirit to R&B. You are a musical legend, and it was a shock to hear that you passed the day after Christmas. Alia Rose.....be strong. You will see Mom again in Heaven. I know she is singing with the choir of angels now.
