Of course it would be great but Prince is forward moving and into the jazz feel. I always loved the Revolution with Prince.

A Revolution reunion would be fantastic but having seen ONA in 2002 I think the latest incarnation of the NPG could be the best band P has ever had.

If my memory serves me right (I was not actually there just read about it) Prince tried to get the Revolution together for a concert at the 2001 Celebration.
W&L could not make it as they were in New Zealand working with Neil Finn (ex Crowded House). Dr Fink, Brown Mark and Bobby Z all turned up and played a couple of songs. From everything I have read W&L would be willing to work with Prince again but he has to 'actually ask them' and for it to be convenient for all three of them not just when it suits Prince. Apparently (again just repeating what I have read) he has only ever asked them indirectly via his website or interviews or song lyrics. He had never actually picked up the phone and said "hi, wanna jam together soon" And THAT is the reason we never ended up getting Roadhouse Garden because when asked if he would release it he said (oon his website I think) "that's up to Wendy & Lisa cause they need to work on those songs" or something along those lines. Again I remember many fans emailed Wendy & Lisa's website www.girlbros.com and the reply was that Prince had not actually asked them. Sigh 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

It'll happen someday I guarantee it. There's NO way Prince would pass up the chance to play with them again. So no, I won't get over it, I'll just take a big deep breath and wait

People forget that Prince was only with the "Revolution" for three albums. A small fraction of his total career.
MJ 'nuff said. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.
RIAA 'nuff said. | |

MJ 'nuff said. Yeah but don't forget all the stuff that Wendy and Lisa did with him that is still in the Vault. You know, the outtakes we've been listening to for years!

MJ 'nuff said. Yes...but they were also with him during the most prolific time of his total career...from this came 4 (I'm including 1999) AMAZING albums, and sessions from which SOTT, Crystal Ball, Dream Factory, "Joy In Repititon" and many other unrealeased greatness were concieved! I've moved on with the times but like many...I think a Revolution reunion would make me very happy! Every minute of last night is on my face today....

The Revolution is overrated. All of Prince's bands since them have been better. His current band would smoke them. Do you think the Revolution could played the Rainbow Children material live like the NPG does? Wake up and move on... ...cause FACE said so!!!

I prefer His 87-88 Band the Best overall, but the Revolution will always get Props because Prince Peaked Commerically with them&Had alot of High's.they were tight in the Studio but I think other bands He has had have surpassed them Live easily but you know they are gonna always have a Huge pressence with alot of people because of the Run Prince had with them&no matter what some folks say or think:Success always flips the Script. mistermaxxx

Okay you wake up too then, do you think the new NPG could touch The Dance Electric or Soft and Wet like the Revolution?? Wanna see the new NPG get smoked? Have them make an album with Prince, then have Wendy and Lisa make a new one with him, and then you'll see it. Oh hell, the whole right side of the ONA stage was empty, just put Wendy and Lisa in there and then you'll know. And you obviously haven't seen Wendy and Lisa jam in awhile if you think they couldn't hang on any music Prince has ever made. Can Lisa Coleman play keyboards like Renato? Think before you speak, dickhead Who's John Blackman??? I'm assuming you meant Blackwell. It doesn't really matter who's "better" it just comes down to that the Revolution brought so much more out of Prince. The new NPG is amazing, but they all got a job as musicians for a music legend. Most of the Revolution were in the trenches with Prince, getting booed off stage etc. Prince and the Revolution were friends and it showed. And why compare Renato and Lisa? Why not compare Renato and Fink? That would make more sense. It's easy, until ANY version of the NPG can top what Prince and the Revolution did together, they'll always just be another Prince band.
