These guys are in their mid 50s, they can't go back to being 21 and 22 again, I just have the feeling this album will be lacklustre like Ice Cream Castles and Pandemonium.

As for being unsigned, I am sure NPG records may be interested in return for Prince being their executive producer and he will no doubt throw a song or six on it for them.

Even if Prince was involved now, he's lost his touch a long time ago. I look forward to his new albums for the same reason I keep up with my college teams games. Nostalgia.

I like the members of the time as cool as they are, but not a fan of their solo works. I like the first Janet album, but never felt the following ones.

So if anything, a new Time album feels more like a family re-union where you get to see your uncle and see how much weight he's gained or hair he's lost and enjoy the same funny stories you have heard a million times.

I look forward to a new Time CD as much as I look forward to a new Appolonia or Vanity 6 cd

Where you been man?! You are seriously out of touch. P is still great. Yes, the commercialism may have wane over the years but he still is a genious and still great. That's like saying Luther Vandross or Gerald Levert or Michael Jackson or R. Kelly has lost their touch and haven't put out good or even great work since.....whatever. People grow with time. Interest grow in time. If we could all stay kids like Peter Pan, believe me, majority probably would take that offer. Stop comparing things to the past. Live for the future and what it may hold. NO, I disagree.

If Prince had grown I would be with you on this, but Prince reminds me of my childhood pothead friends with stunted development. His work is not only just a rehash of his previous work, but lazy attempts at rehashing his previous work.

I will most likely buy the new Time album, but mostly just for nostalgia.

If you do not hear any growth in the Lotus Flower project you have a hearing problem. He is a thousand times better now as a live performer and as a recording artist. You sound like one of those folks who cannot stand to see people having fun and artist having fun. P is in his 50s no reason to stop grooving.

I agree with you that he is a great live performer. I think probably the greatest alive today. I enjoy going to his concerts and enjoy seeing him have fun. And I think Lotus is his best in 20 years.

As a studio recording artist overall, the records speak for themselves. In my opinion, there hasn't been any growth. I see Lotus and The Truth as anomalies in an otherwise lackluster 20 year rut. Just my opinion Laura.

Wouldn't it be so very cool to see The 'Original' Time as special quests this coming week?

I would LOVE a new Time album. I loved Pandemonium (I know I am in the minority, but at least half of it is amazing). I would love to know what they can do with and without Prince's input.

I would also enjoy a box set of The Time with B-sides and outtakes.

I guess as long as I am making a Christmas wishlist, I'd add a box set of Madhouse to that.

Sorry - but I agree that he has stopped really growing. I hear many of the same song structures and riffs from older songs that he shuffles between instruments to hide them. His lyrics have suffered, he has generally (not completely) lost the ability to inject humour into his lyrics. Just because you've been around for a while doesn't mean you can't have a fresh perspective. Heck, every day is a fresh perspective..or should be.

Still an amazing live musician. He really needs some different production (as in a producer) and to working with some other musicians who have skills too - but don't think he can do no wrong (as in not paid band members).

It really doesn't matter how good you are at something wen you start, there is always room for growth . Otherwise you're just marking time til you're dead.

I respectfully (a shame I have to state that on this site) disagree with you. I do think that Prince is still growing/changing. I don't think that 2010 is a good example because it seems like more of a filler project, though I enjoyed several of the songs on it. Future Soul Song displays a Larry influence but in a more mature way, which I think reflects internal spiritual growth. However, LotusFlow3r displayed more growth, or as I like to view it change, than 2010 to me.

For example, on 77 Beverly Park I hear him working through a different guitar style/playing approach, which I found refreshing, though I was not crazy about the song. As Miles Davis once said, Prince is always changing and I hear that in his music. It might be slight, subtle nuances that represent that change but I hear it. Even on songs that I am not as crazy about, I hear things that are different.
