One of the highlights for me this year was to see Sheila upfront with Prince, so I'm just really thankful that she was there for all the three danish shows.

I wonder what made him change his mind? Did they have an argument or what?

Maybe it’s financial, maybe Prince can’t afford to pay Sheila for these gigs and figured that a percussionist was the easiest expenditure to get rid to keep the tour solvent. Maybe Sheila has some personal things to take care of first. She only had 140 characters to type her message, so she might be leaving some things out. Last thing, people should do is blast Prince without knowing the entire story.

Well, if she was leaving due to personal issues I don't think she would write that she won't continue because "Prince changed his mind". A statement like that puts the "blame" on P.

Agree. This is obviously against her wishes. But from her looooooong experience with Prince, she's probably used to the on-off thing he has going on by now. Like that time back in the 90s when she said that she was banned from Paisley, but she loved him anyway. Hopefully they will play together again sometime.

Sheila was "classless" inhow she handled this matter....She purposely left room for rumors/gossip. I would have personaly perferred her say "unfortunately some things has arisen wherein I will be out for the rest of the Prince Tour....whatever it is is to do with she and Prince and not fans....yes there will be disappointment but the show will go on and will be Great as they all are. This was indeed tacky in the way in which she did it....I'm disappointed in her at this point given their longterm friendship....makes you wonder about her mo.

Sorry but you're way off base calling Sheila classless. Classless is taking someone off the tour that you invited them to be on. Classless is showing a friend and fellow musician no respect by putting them into this situation to begin with. Show of hands, who is WAY more disappointed in PRINCE with this annoucement than Sheila E???

Prince is on tour...it is his tour. Everyone else is an employee or guest, even if they are also friends. With that said... Prince can remove anyone from his tour, for any reason, at any time.

True. Same thing could be said for other artists like Bruce Springsteen but he chooses to treat his friends and band members with respect. That wouldn't be such a bad thing for Prince to do would it?

I'm willing to bet that he has to do with her requesting fans to send video of the shows. He didn't like it and she didn't back down from him and then he "changed his mind". Sheila couldn't have been more respectful, she could have just told it like it was.

I feel you and I wish the man wasnt so stuck in his ways, but if the video request was what led to her "dismissal" thats on Sheila.

She had to know how the man felt about that.

After a while the patterns start to become familiar.

Nope,I don't buy that excuse Prince is a multi-millionaire who can surely afford to have top-notch musicians in his band.

Same old story. How is it people simply can’t see Princes patterns. From what I saw she really lit the place up- I’m sure Prince isn’t too thrilled to share the spotlight. Too bad cause his no personality backing band (and that is the problem- it’s a BACKING band) ain’t helping the cause. Personally I thought it was making Prince work harder to be on stage with a great personality with him. Now he can go back to coasting (and sure- coasting for Prince is better than some 100%…but I don’t PAY to see coasting – I’d rather see less talent working hard!)

Well, I was wondering the same. Is Sheila stealing some of Prince's thunder? Is he getting insecure in his advancing years?

If Prince had a problem with the videos, Sheila would have taken them down by now. Sheila's been working with him for over a quarter of a century now...I think she knows how to play the game. She posted a video saying the both she and Prince wanted to see concert footage. I don't think she'd do something like that without running it by him (or having him suggest it in the first place).
