Ownership

Will the ownership to the albums by The Time, V/A 6, Sheila E. & Paisley Park artists eventually go 2 Prince?

Unless he didn't negotiate down to 30 years on those releases. The law still apparently stands at 35 years, but if we believe Prince, he at least found a way to shorten that time-frame on his namesake catalog.

If Prince ever did release remasters, or even non-remastered products of his protege works, the singers and other band members who played on any tracks would be getting a cut of the pie. He would most likely have to negotiate rates with those people or their estates. Too much lawyer shit for our guy to even be bothered with it I'm guessing.

So I guess the members of Good Question shouldn't wait for any checks to arrive. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
