I don't do "subliminal". I've been on this board a long time. I've always been direct and everbody that knows me on here knows this. I have ONE username and I have no problems being direct because I believe the truth is what it is and if it hurts feelings or egos; too bad. It changes nothing. When I say "fanbots", I am referring to a lot of people. They know who they are. If you think its you, then maybe it is. It depends on how you view yourself.
Its a big world out here with a lot of talented people in it.
U have taken subliminal stabs at me in the past
It's sticks and stones on the internet, this place is built 4 discussion and i'm going 2 throw down
Regardless.
Jesse owning Prince has nothing 2do with these vids and I just think its wack when people throw that into the mix when it does nothing but show insecurity/jealousy. (That was 4 the both of U )

He wouldn't be here on Prince.org in the associated artists section - true, but its not like Prince taught Jesse how to play or mentored him as a guitarist. Jesse was already a great guitar player - that's why Prince hired him in the first place.

Preach! And these same folks complaining about one saying Jesse is a better guitarist
than Prince are the same ones that compare other artists in the Prince Non Music section
so their argument is useless.

Thats what I was trying to imply at the start, but you got defensive so we had to squabble.

will admit Jesse is a excellent underrated guitarist. Should have been on one of the greatest guitarist list along with Prince. But he never reached to superstar status like Prince. Maybe one day he will. Just wondered what happen? He should have been bigger. The cut he wrote for the group after 7 " Nights Like This" on the Five heartbeats Soundtrack was slammin. I also liked Vanity's "Undress" he wrote & produced. She never sounded better on any other song & The Ta mara & The scene albums speak for itself. But no one never mentions him as one of the greatest.... Sad! I use to go to all his shows when he would come to LA..

^I think Jesse could have stayed relevant in the 90s but it seems like he gave up on Funk/R&B/ after Kool Skool and faded into obscurity.
I'm not a very big fan of BMNS and VP is straight up garbage so while people such as BlaqueKnight are loving the new music,i'm bumming out.

Exactly! Maybe he should go back to his Funk/RNB roots and use a lead guitar every now & then. truly think he has the talent to come back. If El Debarge can come back he can to...

His axxe-chops on "Be Your Man" are slick 'n tight, although i miss the essential synths in that version.

that's brilliant playing from the man. Is it me or does he seems to lack the confidence and swagger of a front man though on these performances. Still funkier than blue cheese left out in the sun though!. |
