Under the influence

I just saw the video for this and I just realized how much I like this song, mainly for the music, but the vocals aren't half bad.

BTW: I LOVE her outfit in the video.

Sorry for this pointless thread, but seeing that video really brings me back.

Not the greatest album...but it's Vanity!

Robbie Williams wrote and (I think) produced "Under The Influence" for Vanity.Around the same time,he had his own hit record called "Cest' La Vie".

"Under The Influence" is easily Vanity's best song as a solo artist, but did you ever notice how her vocals are "buried" in the mix? After her disastrous first album with "Pretty Mess",Motown made sure that, this time around, her squealing vocals weren't so obvious...lol...

Vocal skills aside, you have to dig Vanity...she was still better than these skeezers that pass for talent today (every Destiny Child and Britteny Spears clone on MTV). Vanity had soething. SHe isnt a half bad actress either. I cry every time I think of how good Purple Rain would have been if she stayed with the film.
...cause FACE said so!!!
